Question regarding Offest for 1970 510 Wagon

Recommended Posts

I have a 1970 Datsun 510 Wagon and am looking to purchase 15x8 XXR 531 rims but I dot not know anything about Offset. The wagon has front 280zx struts with coilver and camber plates and is currently lowered. The back is just lowered with block. The current front rims are 280ZX turbo rims and the rear rims are the stock rims off a 92 240sx.

Will XXR 531 15x8 with 0 Offset fit on my car?

I dont think a 7 inch wide wheel with.0.offset is going to fit.under a stock rear quarter. But yesterday, while answering the exact same question I was told a 8 et0 would fit. Ive seen it not fit at all. But who knows for sure get under there with a tape measure and let us know.what you find out.

Here are pictures of the wheels. I measured the rear and there is an 1" from the tire to the leaf spring and about 1-1/2" from the tire to the fender. Current wheels are 7" wide 195/50/15

Angleure of picture looks like tire is touching but there is an 1" from the tire to the leaf spring and about 1-1/2" from the tire to the fender.

Maybe 15x8x 0 offset for front and 15x8x +10 offset for rear? Thoughts???

Your current wheels are 6 inch wide...

You are running 240sx wheels in the rear, and 280zx in the front. They are both 15x6.

You measure from inside to inside on wheels, where the tire bead sits.

Yeah thats what alot of people do. Every one thinks the iron crosses are 7 inch wide with a zero ofset.

The truth is I dont think any nissan mags ever.had a zero offset. Those are most likely both + 10ish

yeah, i too want to find out if 15x8 +0 will actually fit under the rear with some stretch. seems there are conflicting opinions

I have a 13x7 rim with 0 offset and 205/60/13's on my goon and they rub a little in the rear on bumps.  (No fender lip roll, and my wagon is lowered about 2" in rear)  If I put the same setup with 13x8 it wouldn't work on my goon at all..

love it.. rubbing?suspension setup?

it rubs on the front on turns lol but it's 280zx brakes and some cut coilover springs. back just has 2 inch blocks and rolled fenders so it doesn't rub as it's not lowered much.
