So after a really long time, I finally have an almost finished motor! This thing will be a monster once it is back in the truck with all sorts of fuel lines, wiring, turbo, supercharger, belts and freeze plugs attached. This qualifies as porn....

Hey Eagle, cam Gears are Tomei.

its beautiful what is that velvet.lol

I wrapped it in baby skin, it's the softest!! ha ha ha

I noticed the Larry holt speed specialties decal, is this in San Diego?
Cool build. Pretty crazy that you're going the twin charged route with a stroker.

Yea, Larry used to have a shop here in SD. He retired and closed it down earlier this year. I love the sound of a twincharger at WOT.

Yea, it helps to read sometimes ha ha ha. I got the motor back into the house, got the valve cover and oil block on. Now she is all wrapped up and waiting for my ass to get into gear with everything else. Just another money shot...

In keeping with progress I've decided to go with as much Z32 driveline as I can. Just ordered a transmission adapter kit without the driveshaft. This weekend I'm on the hunt for a Z32 TT tranny, differential, axles, hubs, brakes and possibly a steering rack... For a guilty pleasure I ordered a Tomei fuel pressure gauge.

If anyone wants an S13 transmission in socal let me know.

You're right... I have an extra 521 cluster in the garage that I just looked at. That Z32 unit is just too big.

This is what I'm thinking for the exhaust. My bike, pictured, has this awesome Ti pipe that sounds badass. This is actually the second of the same pipe that I've had on my bike. The first one had the first weld break after the slip on clamp. It was under warranty and the company sent me another pipe for free. It isn't a cheap pipe and I didn't pay retail thankfully. I just like spending money. So since I have 2 of them I was thinking I could use both of them as a side exit behind the passenger door. It starts as a 2.1" pipe where the weld broke and opens to around 2.75-3" after the final transition. I'm unsure of the EGT of my bike but the Ti would turn all sorts of sick ass colors if I can make it work with the truck! The powder coating on the wheels is similar to the coating on the truck, just obviously a different color. The first valve cover I had for this motor I had powder coated. The guy sandblasted and coated the underside of the valve cover... I drilled out the rivets on the oil baffle and it was filled with sand. No fucking way I'm going to let that eat my motor so I got an oem unfinished cover.

The head might need to come off again because the "blow by hose" was removed from the block during all of the machining. The one on the upper right side of the photo.

This was unaddressed before the motor was put together, probably my fault. I'm going to try to block it off and tap into the side of the block without taking off the head. I've been unable to locate an oem unit and all the advice came in the form of tap and run a stainless line.

Right?! Sick setup. Has anyone seen the BRE Coupe gauges? If I only had an extra $1,100...

Got in the tranny adapter with starter and fuel pressure gauge. I'm getting a Z32 twin turbo subframe assembly tomorrow; diff with 3.692 final drive, axles, hubs and brakes off the list for the rear. Should be able to pick up a transmission in the next few weeks and a clutch kit in the meantime.

  • 2 weeks later...

To prep the truck for the upcoming body work I finally emptied out all of the parts/tools that were in the cab and bed. Now I've got to straighten this crap up tomorrow with so much football to watch.

Mess of old and new parts that need to be sorted.

Need to find a home for this as well.

This is the powder coated valve cover that got trashed. It was sandblasted and coated underneath. Drilled out the rivets holding on the oil galley and it was full of sand and powder.
