]2eDeYe
You guys are like the people throwing fits and rioting at walmart when the EBT system goes down  I'm just annoyed that I have to fix all my pics. Hopefully godaddy never goes down, but if history is any guide nothing lasts forever and I'll have to fix my pics again sometime in the future. :p 2 Quote Link to comment

Ratwagon1600
Soooooo, ive decided its probably not worth it trying to recover my oics from Photofuckit although I might give it a go anyway. Im hoping they havent deleted everything so I can at least keep taking up a small amount of space on there servers. Im trying to work out what I do with my build threads, and other ones like the silicone badge mould thread which I really think deserves its place in Ratsun history. One good thing is that the majority of my oics have been taken on my cell and emailed to my Gmail account over the years. Now being the lazy fuck that I am I just checked and there are literally hundreds of oics ive emailed to my pc for uploading that I didn't delete from Gmail. Once I pick a hosting site im going to try and rebuild certain threads using the gmail repository. Just trying to work out whether I start by removing the destroyed links or do it as a work in progress type thing. Either way, a lot of work to unfuck what has happened. 1 Quote Link to comment
LenRobertson
A million thanks to Bleach for posting the vid. Following the guy's instructions, I actually seem to be able to embed an image from Flickr for the first time in months (probably more like a couple of years). I was trying to use the "Image" button here on Ratsun and kept getting an error message. Using the method in the vid it is a matter of copying the BBCode and pasting directly into my post. However, tomorrow is another day. Flickr seems compulsive about change for the sake of change, so it will be interesting how long this method works. But I'm happy today! I didn't have any fresh Datsun pics up on Flickr so I went ahead and posted one of a Sinar Norma 4X5 view camera with a 9 1/2" Goerz Dagor lens since that is the Flickr pic I was using for test purposes. So enjoy looking at one of the all time classic camera designs! Len 2 Quote Link to comment

edekalil
This is a test with Imgur from my iPhone. https://i.imgur.com/UUFGADn.jpg Well I see it puts a link to the oic, not the oic? Gotta figure this out! Well the oic is of a pinecaster I painted Sonic Blue with some color or resin from the nots coming up through the blue. Looks whacked out in person. Ok here go's the image on Flickr. https://www.flickr.com/gp/156475240@N03/w6qUJ1 Alright I still only see a link not the oic? Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong? 1 Quote Link to comment

Rjawm
All I did was click on your Imgur link, right click on the image, copy the web address, and paste into the pop up box after clicking on the image icon in the ratsun reply options. 2 Quote Link to comment

RW It is not the easiest thing to do but it is doable. You can download you complete photos from PhotoBucket at 1 time or if you have lots of albums of pictures you can do individual albums to help keep your organization if it exists.. I will attemp to do a "How To Download Pictures From PhotoBucket" later. Quote Link to comment
Rjawm
All I did was click on your Flickr link, click on the share icon, open the BBcode tab, copy the web address from inbetween the tags, and paste into the pop up box after clicking on the image icon in the Ratsun reply options. I have rarely had the predone imbed code work here on Ratsun. I find it works every time I use the cut and paste method of a .jpg or .gif address into the image popup box. 1 Quote Link to comment

If you don't have the program that allows you to "unzip" the file, it's a pretty useless option. I'll add to this though, it's not hard to use Google and find a free download of the needed program. 2 Quote Link to comment

Currently I'm on my computer, but I've done the same on my phone. Kinda a PITA though because you have to open Ratsun in full version, not mobile, and then zoom in to see the post options. I know it's a convoluted way to do it but, I've had a way higher success rate than it seems most people have at posting pics here lol. 1 Quote Link to comment

I just decided it was time to pay for server space. Of course this requires some ftp and file server skills which aren't to hard to learn. What I am doing is downloading all of my pics so they are still organized together and still have the photobuket picture name. I am organizing them on my server space in a much nicer fashion, but keeping the name. Once I have the pics on the server I just have to paste the new server path over the old photobuket path and leave the image name itself. This works really well. It is going to be a massive load of work. My build threads will get restored first and then I will do other pics as I find them. The nice thing about this is that I now have my own domain. I can back up the entire server and take it to some other provider if needed. Then all the links should just keep working. I can take some screen grabs and do a writeup if there is interest? The sucky thing about imgur's app is you need to add the img tag to the beginning and end of the link they provide. You also have to remove the 's' after the http. I keep trying to give an example but I keep getting told I am not allowed to use that image extension on this community. WTF! EDIT: I made an example in photoshop since I can't write it here 2 Quote Link to comment

wayno
So what your saying here is that you can download all your PB photos and put them on your server space, then paste the new server path to the old PB path and your photos will all magically appear again where they were before??? This sounds to good to be true and it is way over my head. I just decided it was time to pay for server space. Of course this requires some ftp and file server skills which aren't to hard to learn.
