Box datsun/maxima ( the unwanted maxima 810 ) basicly is the same chassis 280z 82-83 i basicly took alot off parts out this car, but the price on ( new ) chassis parts are unreal for me...So i took the s13 240sx route...still under contruction ,but 85% done front sway bars are needed...( i am doing ka24e swap ) so it made it easier to take this route with this front end conversion....

To not confuse some the car you have is a maxima right? If it's an 810 is it a 1977-1980? I know the 1981 maxima had 810 badged on it. It gets confusing when people say hey I got an 810! Automatically think of the 1977-1980 810 not the maxima which was also considered as 810.

So the s13 cross member fit on the 810?

I have a 83 810 wagon, also a diesel. I'm going with a 280zx turbo motor. I was thinking about doing s13 coils/ lower controll arms. Basically full s13 suspension.

Do you have pics of your suspension? I'd like to see it.

I never did coilovers on my 810 has lowered stock suspension cut springs in the front and lowering blocks in the back. My 810 rides really nice it's a little bouncy but not a lot. You could do the same to your maxima I haven't seen any coilovers for the front of the wagon only the sedans.

When using the s13 front i used everything s13 lower control arms and such ( u must use coilovers ) they fit up.... Now had a issue with rack you can use the 810 rack . I mees mine up so use s13 rack...Found out that didint work for me So i had a 1996 maxima rack sitting around so i use that one.... if fit well had to grind off a hole and weld it up.....use 810 rack if you can

The 810 4dr i have has a long nose so you can drop almost anything in it.......since for my 1st post i have not done much to the car.. had to repair garage to house the car...   then i had to really sit down and figure what motor and stick to it........So going with a ka24de ( na ) then soon after turbo it get the car running then turbo.....

I am doing two builds with very little funds it really tough ,they say making your own parts is easy, but thats just a huge lie ( at times ) i still didnt  wire the car yet 2 years now, cause i had to do garage to house the cars, then i did inside the house.....with very little doe tough to balace, thats why this post isnt moving forward like many would like....

To refreshmy thoughts on this build i change so many ( power plants )  first rb, then ka243 then ka24de, and now the solid plan is a ka24det...Staying with that and i will do the same to the other 810 i have also just run ka24det, and run 3.0 maxima vq30 not the vq35 or 37 or any other vq but the vq30 ......do not sleep on this motor.. i will create a youtube channel to make this easier to veiw... rebelion car life
