Still have some little holes to fill. Then try to correct some waves in the supersonic line, then on to doing the wheel arch and below the c pillar vent.

The rear tail light panel is bent to shit. I pulled what I could with the stud welder. The crunch is right where the trunk latch is.. so I can reach it from the inside. Should be able to get decent results with a little filler. If it looks like trash I might have to order a replacement panel.

Had to fix a few more areas on this quarter panel. These are places were the panel was replaced at some point. Not done well.. so I had to reshape the area a bit.

I got the rear panel straight, but I thought the radius line might be a little of... checked it and confirmed. Way off... lol  So I fixed that.

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks!

My only problem is.. I've never sprayed color on anything before. Gonna have to find a panel to practice on I guess.

Oh, the other problem is that the time is ticking!!

You can spray top coat if you can spray primer( without runs). Do some practice panels to gain confidence and then rent a spray booth to do the whole car at once. You can do it!

Sticking with the beige?

And that ass looks good. Get it back together for Canby and then paint before Dats-n-Rods

Just got done for the night. Put in 13 hours today of blocking and priming. Will wet sand with 500 grit and see what needs another round of fixing.

Trunk lid is basically ready to shoot. Will make a final inspection and see about getting some color on it.

Would have taken pics but everything looks the same. Will start again early and see what I can get done.

Another 11 hours today, but have something to show for it. Color is close.. but probably a bit more orange than the car. Hard to say..

Sprayed this

Little peal and dust.. but I like it. Could it be better, yes. This is the first time spraying color so good enough.

Middle pic is of a junk door I sprayed to test the gun settings and check the color match. Pretty close.. not perfect.
