Ouch, that sucks!  Did you do anything to get primer inbetween the panels?

I couldn't think of a way. I tried to spray in the holes where possible.. but obviously bare metal anywhere is no good. Any ideas?

I'm waiting on sand paper so no filler applied today.

I got to work trying to recover my 720 steering wheel. It was blue previously. So far.. so good. No pics yet. Still a work in progress.

Keep me posted please!

I will PM you when i get them. 1 is a CLSD, gears are bad, can easily be swapped into another diff with the gears of your choice. 2 are VLSD's one is a 4:44, i'm not sure on the other.

I also have 510 stub axles that are machined to run in a VLSD

Thought I have a line on a cheap 3.9 Subaru r160 clsd. Left work and booked it over there.... non-lsd.

It was mis-ID'd by the yard.

I would stil get it if it's really cheap, those are hard to come by. You can easily swap in an LSD.

The 510 diff is a R160 3.9? What is different in the subie unit? The ring gear bolt size?

The diff's are almost identical. The difference is Datsun shafts are bolted in, Subuaru are held in with a snap ring. To use The 510 shafts in a VLSD the shoulder below the splines needs to be turned down and a groove added for the snap ring.
