Spent a lot of time making the stock block vent look good... But it was a wasted effort since it won't work with SU's. I remembered I had a spare that I had almost scrapped a few weeks ago. Good thing I kept it!

Chopped it up and made this:

Wait for a 100° day, leave car in sun with windows closed all day....bam!

Dash pad melted lol

Haha, I always park in the shade.. or have the windshield shades up. Need to protect my precious dash pad.

I've got a spare cluster print, I'll use that for melt testing.

Well, I don't know what the average temp inside a datsun is. I can get it to melt.. that's for sure. I think it's around 140 actually.. at least up here in the PNW. Different story down south.

Thanks guys.

I opened it up to install some anchors for plastic parts. They are stainless steel inserts. I heat them up and melted them into the part to get them seated. No post install pictures...

Then I was able to screw the faceplate to the body.

It's now ready to wire in..

I'm thinking about pulling the exhaust manifold and painting it. It's too ugly.. but I don't want to bake it in my oven. I might see if I can get the BBQ up to 400 degrees to cure the paint.
