(SOLD): Freshly Rebuilt L16 w/A87 Head, SU Carbs & 'Z' 5-Speed (NorCal)

Moving the project into a different direction and need to make room for another power plant.

 

The engine is an L16 with an A87 head & SU carbs.


I rebuilt this engine less than a year ago and have driven less than 1,000 miles since the build.

Everything works VERY well. No starting issues, no overheating, no leaks, no nonsense!

It's still in my car. Anyone seriously interested is welcome to come by, start it, drive it, etc.. I'm in Sacramento.

I'm including LITERALLY everything you need to drop this thing into your 510 and GO!

I will post the cooling system up for sale soon too. Willing to work out a deal for everything. Look over my build thread and PM me.

Motor build included:
-new bearings
-new piston rings
-valve job
-cylinder head has been machined .030 over for a compression bump.
-all new gaskets
-all new seals
-valve adjustment

Engine also includes:

-A87 Cylinder head
-17lb lightened flywheel
-new OE spec clutch & pressure plate
-Dual SU carbs...recently tuned
-Carb. throttle linkage assembly w/gas pedal
-Manual choke assembly
-Distributor, cables, coil etc..
-Exhaust manifold & down-pipe
-Engine wiring harness
-Alternator w/external regulator


Transmission is Z 5-Speed.
-No leaks
-New shifter bushings
-New shifter dust boot
-New slave cylinder
-Speedometer drive gear and cable (works perfectly!)
-COMES WITH DRIVE-SHAFT to fit a 510 with R160 diff.

I am not interested in parting out the engine. Sorry..

I don't want to sell the trans/driveshaft until the engine is gone. I want the buyer of the engine to be able to drive the car.

that's a good head.  Do you know if it's open or closed chamber?  So it's an L16 with L18 head?

 

Err..I don't remember and I can't find a pic of chambers... I'll err on the safe side and say open chamber...might be closed though.. :confused:

 

forgot to ask what's the compression on all fours?

 

Just after the first oil change @ 300 miles, it was ~160 across the board. Haven't checked it since, the motor has a total of ~800 miles now.
