My first build ever... 76 620

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I am new to the Datsun world and I've never built anything more than a model. I have always had a love for mini-trucks, (since the age of 9), Datsuns in particular. I had the opportunity to purchase one that is maybe 70% to 80% complete. It has been ravaged and pilfered by its past 2 POs. Parts removed. Parts breaking. It just wasn't shown the love it deserves. I'm about to change that. After consulting with a lot of you and getting ideas, i finally have a plan and hope to have it almost complete by Canby this year. So here is my trucks introduction to the build community and I'll be showing you all the progress in the coming months.

Heres a few of how she sits now...

Generally it looks very nice. I don't get the pavement dragging look but doesn't stop me from appreciating the thought and effort that went into it. It also doesn't stop me from offering a critical comment on the front wheel camber. The truck obviously has a lot of engineering in it so why wasn't the front camber properly sorted out? 510 are the same... someone lowers them but fails to slot the crossmember to help correct the camber. Can you correct this?

Something isn't right with this picture. Makes the truck look like the cab mounts have rotted away and it's sinking on the driver's side.

KA-E... very nice. Has 720 booster and master. If BEEBANI it will have the larger calipers too.

Brown seats just don't go with blue and white. Gray would go with the door panels and carpet nicely. Shift knob and steering wheel are.... what can I say? (looks good in your truck?)

My plans for the paint scheme.

Works for me. What about a blue valence carried around below the doors and rocker panels and all the way back to the rear red marker lights? Or is that too much blue.

I'm good on parts. Thanks for the offer. I got my upholstery spray for my seats. (Black) waiting on my tax money to get carpet and new vinyl for door panels and headliner. Going up to Olympia on the 23rd. Hoping to pick up an air tank for my air ride, so i can get rid of the missile behind my seats. Paint will be last for sure.
