Hey Ratsun I figured this would be a good place to track the progress on my Yamaha project. Enough talk.

at this point the bike sat for a while and i cleaned it a bit. I moved and decided to get cracking on it so i took the motor off and got it rebuilt.
IMG00331.jpg

The bike came with an extra motor which i thought was the same, but it turned out to be the bigger 80cc motor that cam on the YG1 bikes. The stock motor was completely seized and would have been more expensive to rebuild so i opted to rebuild the 80cc motor. some rebuild pics

mine was candy red, now its sand blasted. back burnered for now, when i start on it again ill make a build thread. but back to this yamaha, i like it. didnt know  about them looks like the ct90's. i wonder if the chinise honda motors would work in it, they make a 160cc. fun to see faces when you ride a wheelie on a bike that could never get the wheel off the ground stock

thanks. I dunno about painting it, i really like the patina. I might just wet sand it and spray it with a satin clear coat.

Thanks. No updates. Last time I ran it i had the chain in but it didn't want to go into gear. Got a new clutch cable but haven't put it in. So that's where it's at.

u know but nut I do these frames and every trail known to Honda pretty much weekly ... u could strip the frame down and send itto me for about 45 bucks then we make it brand new again

It's very rare to find a ...
1/Datsun nut. ( they actually know and appreciate the work and expense that went into the build) and who also...
2/Can afford to buy it.
