mhub91
What do you mean you got your AC stuff in? These take R12 unless it's been retrofitted with R-134A... The compressor won't kick on unless there is a sufficient amount of refrigerant. Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
If you bypass the pressure switch it will. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
If you bypass the pressure switch it will. What he said. But if there's zero freon on the system, and no refrigerant oil, that's not a great idea for compressor longevity. 1 Quote Link to comment
a.d._510_n_ok
ran a hot wire to the compressor and got it to cycle but no cold air. fuck it. $23 worth of trial and error. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
No cold air cuz you haz no freon. You just needed to know if the compressor worked. Now you can go fill with R12(expensive) or retrofit to R134A. Quote Link to comment
mhub91
Yeah, exactly... Don't get discouraged (yet). You'll have to recharge the refrigerant before you'll get any cold air action. R12 is insane expensive... You'd most likely be better off retrofitting to R-134A. It's only about $12/oz where most AC system take any from 1.30-1.87lbs of refrigerant, from my experience. MicroMachinery
Or use Hot Shot(r-414b). Cheap and direct drop in replacement for r-12. Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
What year is that? Z motor? Round headlights means '78/79. Also means L20b. ;) Also, I think the coupe body style only came in the early cars. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
I couldn't see the round lights from my phone. I guess this is as good of place as any to say this. WTB Z20S pistons. LMK, please. Mods, if inappropriate-delete. Quote Link to comment
mhub91
Get ahold of Alexmeans, or Pumkindave last I checked the both had Z20s Quote Link to comment
fritzdixxon
This one literally followed me home from B.C. One of my favorite things about the car 1 Quote Link to comment

fritzdixxon
It's a 78 :) L20b Only body style I need now and I'll have all the 78 lineup. Standard or auto? Quote Link to comment
mhub91
I thought coupes were only 4 spd? Or am I mistaken? Quote Link to comment
mhub91
at any chance, are you trying to sell? (for cheap) Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
I thought coupes were only 4 spd? Or am I mistaken? They all had the option of all the different transmissions. If anything, I would think the coupe, the sportier of them, would be a 5 speed automatically. Quote Link to comment
mhub91
Hm... I had thought I read somewhere one body style was either auto, or 4spd only Quote Link to comment
dukerollo
Man, the northwest is lousy with these things. Counting mine I have only ever seen 2 a10s in my life. I had to go b310 to get a 2 door :( Quote Link to comment
Fat510
The 2 door sedan came with either the 3N71B or the F4W63L The hatchback came with either the FS5W63A or the 3N71B 2 Quote Link to comment
