datsunfreak
the measure from drum brake to drum brake, somthing like this It should be 54.25". I know the B310 axle is 53.25 and the S110 axle is 55.25, and from my experience the A10 axle is right in between the two. Quote Link to comment

I finally could talked to my mechanic, you were close but it´s 55.5", at least for the wagon. So great news I´m going to have an EVO IV rear end aaaaand you were right about selling the wheels at least the ones on the rear must go :crying: :crying: , I have to find some +55 or something like that cuz I have like an extra 0.8" on each side of the rear end. Btw here is the final fitment on the front ( I dont remember if post it ) It could be rolled but it is not as bad as I thought though I can always rise the coils and pretend to be a truck lol Quote Link to comment
chevtruknut
I sent you a pm, forgot to measure today. Set alarm to check tomorrow. Curious now if hatchback will be different. ( Doubt it). Looks fairly close from above on fitment. I'll be in need of slightly larger than stock wheels later. Mine are 100% stock, (13") with great hubcaps now, but those gotta go. Quote Link to comment

I just saw it, no worries. they should be the same, what are you planning to put there ? I originally wanted to fit 14s" but they weren´t gonna clear the brakes Quote Link to comment
chevtruknut
Well as of right now ( of course always subject to change) I "built" an L 20B ( the stock motor but all brand new, ported, polished, etc). It's installed in there now, subject to change so don't need different rear, but would like brake upgrades. Still concentrating on bracing body, finishing mechanics ( rebuilding 5 speed and rear now). Time will tell. Want to keep it " mild custom" as the theme, it's SOOO different when ots stripped nobody has ANY idea what it is. Quote Link to comment

I was in the same boat for a while but the motor kept leaking,at the beginning it was overheating, I managed to solve that but never the leaks :geek: so I decided to go crazy and do the swap. btw I`m back to square one with the rear. The evo`s rear was the one fitted with AYC so the diff won`t work properly Quote Link to comment

chevtruknut
Does the firewall seem sturdy enough being only sheet metal. If you're not sure, only time and a few hard turns will tell! Looking forward to the new school year, actually have an auto body shop class this year,( I teach) so hopefully we can get the body work finished. Quote Link to comment

I`m gonna take a look to see how thick it is  Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
Just reading the comment on the brace and the firewall.... Is it possible to put a plate behind inside the firewall? Would that help strengthen the panel your attached to? I could be way off base, just a thought that popped into my head.... Quote Link to comment
chevtruknut
Good thought it occured to me also. Not really sure geometrically how much stress that part undergoes, so ??? Quote Link to comment

Not really sure geometrically how much stress that part undergoes, so ??? it shoudln´t be that much plus I´m reinforcing some points underneath but I guess that we will see. Look how it sits ! and now everything has to be taken apart :crying: :crying: Quote Link to comment
chevtruknut
That's the fun (?) Of building one. ( Literally any project car done right) it's a PITA 1 Quote Link to comment
Dmb3sge
That's the fun (?) Of building one. ( Literally any project car done right) it's a PITA indeed ! well next week I will make a decision over the rear track swap for the moment I´m trying to choose an air filter for the engine but I think I´m gonna buy this is one : volant.com/filters/powercore.aspx my biggest concern is filtration and yup I know OME is the way to go but there is not enough space Quote Link to comment
chevtruknut
Looks pretty cool, I'm kinda a K & N guy myself, but that one looks promising. 1 Quote Link to comment
Dmb3sge
But those are oiled !! What about the maf sensor? I'm kinda freaky when it comes to air filtration I almost went with ITG( also oiled but the foam has smaller holes than the gauze in the k&n) but from what I read the best option was Volant cuz the powercore is in reality made by donalson and those guys know how to filter the shit out of air lol. It's pretty dusty where I live so probably that's why I'm worried about filtration Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Peel the tire stickers off. Stop being that guy. Quote Link to comment
chevtruknut
Just a bit of FYI. I was very involved in a study that proved, independently that if you oil those type filters CORRECTLY they don't screw with MAF's at all. The pris most people use way too much oil. The product you chose is a great one also, and your correct, they know their stuff. Quote Link to comment

I`ve had heard that , and if you have tested it, it must be true cuz it`s not a wide spread problem otherwise they wouldn`t be selling them like hotcakes, but when it comes to filtration there are better filters and for the moment I`m not gonna take advantage of the extra CMF (here`s some technical info that you probably already know but it`s always good to spread the word you know: https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/airfilter/airtest3.htm) Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
A dirty air filter cleans better than a clean air filter. Too much oil on a reusable filter kills the MAF, yes. Even properly oiled though- too much dirt/particulate is still able to flow through the media attaching itself to the MAF, killing your sensor. More air, more power. More air also allows more crap into your engine for more money than the tried and true paper or cotton. Quote Link to comment
chevtruknut
Too bad we can't go back to good old oil bath filters from the 40-50s. They worked awesome and many agriculture kept using them later, but EPA boo hood them, oh well. Plenty of great products out there. Like I tell students, more air in ( AND FUEL!) more power out...engines are just air/fuel machines. Good stuff. Can't wait for the new school year so hopefully we can get going on Dancer ( my project car) 1 Quote Link to comment
A10_Johnny
The H190 diff from a 82 200sx is a direct bolt on to the A10? Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
The H190 diff from a 82 200sx is a direct bolt on to the A10? As far as mounting it in the car, yes. It literally bolts right in. As mentioned, e-brake cables are different and you'd want to grab as much as you can from the donor car, including all cables and the e-brake handle assembly. A10, B310 and S110 all have the same attachment points for all of the suspension. So you can swap stuff around from car to car fairly easily. Quote Link to comment
chevtruknut
That's good to know information. Nothing around Texas for sure though, all been crushed I'm afraid, what few were here to begin with. Thanks for the swap info though Quote Link to comment
