Guahanpride
Hey dude! I just got my first napz a few months ago. Finally got it running. I noticed on your video that mine is not hooked up properly. I have a weber 32/36 carb. Im wondering if you can actually explain to me what is the wire on side of the carburator, were does that hook up to. Dangkalu si yuus mase. Quote Link to comment
_chiefjt
The wire Is for the electric choke. Under neath the choke cap (white or black cap) there's a coil spring that heats up when you turn your key on. The wire heats it up when the key is on. When the coil gets hot its starts to expand and open the choke. You really only need the choke for starting and warming up the truck. And when your done driving it cools down the spring and it winds it up again. Not sure if the vacuum lines are the same for the 32/36 but that's how I routed it. It's obvious but you need a catalytic converter to pass. 1 Quote Link to comment
Radim
Did you ever get those wheels? Quote Link to comment

_chiefjt
Alright, so I haven't updated in while but hopefully this will make up for it. REAL PIC HEAVY ! Started with this:  ARHHH!!!! ........... RUST ! LOL, Took this on my way to the bus stop. Didn't bother doing the tailgate so good because it needs to be replaced so yeah, wet sand and spray. Wire brushed it. Eh, it'll hold for now. The most important person in my project, My mom    ......... :sneaky: Quote Link to comment
_chiefjt
I literally unbolted the exhaust hanger and it fell straight to the ground. I pressure washed in and showed my uncle this picture and he said I had to have Painted it. haha Quote Link to comment
_chiefjt
Masked..........FINALLY ! :D This is just the first coat. I used the Dupli-Color Primer Surfacer, a $30 paint gun from Harbor Freight and a 20 gallon Compressor. So a little conclusion: Cost about $200 to do all of this. And we did a second coat after spot puttying the minor imperfections and came out FRICKING TIGHT !! lol Oh and by the way I just put on a Thrush Turbo muffler on for now. I wanted the Thrush welded for a quieter sound but couldn't find one so yeah. Cost about $45 because I bought adapters and stuff to put it on. Still got to get it finished but we don't drive it that much. So yeah, here it is: And a pic of a few 720s at the meet. The guy in the picture actually asked me if I'd sell my truck. lol And all this was done in 3 weeks and I assembled everything at 6 a.m. the day of the meet. Cut it pretty close but it was WELL worth it. Quote Link to comment

Jdm720
Good progress!! By the way, a friend of mine who does bodywork/paint has an $18 dollar Harbor Freight gun (also has a bunch of other "name brand" guns) and nobody can tell the difference in results.. No, not maaco jobs, these start at 2500+. The majority of the quality will come from skill/talent. Quote Link to comment

_chiefjt
Just waitin on this Corvette to get done so I can put my truck there. The Vette needs a gas tank and a fuel sending unit. Should be done within a month. When its done I wanna pull the engine and trans an rebuild both of them. Clean up the engine bay and primer it.........maybe. The only thing I'm worried about is breaking the brittle plastic peices trying to take them off. Quote Link to comment
ronmulan
Looking good man, looks way better in one color  Updates!!?? Quote Link to comment
_chiefjt
It's been a while. Just trying to focus on my senior year but I got the A/C setup towards the end of summer last year and just recently cleaned out my engine bay over winter break. Hope you don't mind the bad quality pics. lol A/C setup. I got everything at the pic a part except for the a/c compressor, condenser, drier, high and low pressure switch, vacuum valve and new a/c hoses from the compressor to condenser. Just trying to get pics following the a/c lines. My dads work specializes in a/c so he brought home brackets that we would work so we fabricated the best one to fit. Quote Link to comment
_chiefjt
Next up is the Engine bay that even surprised me. Ugh, nothing I could do there so whatever peeled off I just left it the way it is. After: Painted just the heads of the nuts and bolts black as well as the brackets and stuff. No after pic, sorry. I just wanted to see it all back together. ^_^ Still need to take a pic of it all put back together though, I just want to shine it up first. lol Quote Link to comment
ronmulan
really big difference! water blasted it? Quote Link to comment
_chiefjt
Nah I just used purple power and toothbrushes. Was debating on pulling the motor but I didn't want to pull it just to clean the engine bay. If I'm gonna pull it I want to rebuild or something. Quote Link to comment
ronmulan
that must be some good stuff, how long did it take you? Quote Link to comment
bryant2482
hey dude im impressed with all that you did! how long did it take to do all that? Quote Link to comment
_chiefjt
It took 3 days but not all my time was spent on it. Probably like 3 hours each day. Just had too many things to do and places to go but I got it all done before break was over. Don't really know what to do next because I got no money flow. lol Any ideas? Quote Link to comment

_chiefjt
hahaha, yeah. I love my weber, it's been a year since I got it and had no problems whatsoever. Just run 91 octane sometimes and use carb. cleaner every 2 months or so. pull the plugs and there a nice, light brown. I also picked up a Nissan Z22 aluminum valve cover. Don't know what to do with it yet, either polish it, paint it, or powder coat it. Quote Link to comment
