squidd
Hey, I recent owner of a 78' datsun 510, also known as the a10. I am looking for some specs and info in genreal in these cars. it seems like it is a little hard to find anything out about these cars and I would appreciate any info from anyone who knows about this car. thanks, Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
Be better if you were a little more specific on what info you wanted. There aren't many folks that own those, though I have 3 '78s and an '81. I've had my '78 wagon since 1991 (over 300K on it now) and know what typically goes wrong. I also know that in 1991 parts were very easy to find and every junk yard in Washington seemed to have at least one. Now, you'd be lucky to find one junkyard in the state that has one. Most wear items can still be found, some items (like molded heater hoses) are a dealer item and are still available. Quote Link to comment
squidd
Hey, Thanks for the reply, sorry I was not more specific earlier. The sort of things I have been trying to find are like vehicle weight, original horsepower for the L20b in it. I have had people tell me its over 100hp but I have also seen hp estimates on other sites that place it around 80-90hp. Quote Link to comment

datsunaholic
92 at the flywheel at 5600 RPM, or so. They put out around 102HP without the air pump, in "best world" conditions. Probably under 75 at the wheels, but no one has dyno'd a stock A10 so far as I know. Dunno what a 4-door weighs; the GAWR is listed on the doorjamb data plate, but that's loaded. Icehouse
When you get it running you could drive it to a truck scale or to the dump. Then you could report back your findings. Quote Link to comment
