FiveSeventyZee
Not technically lifted, stock ride height but for a 4x4 factory height is lifted in relation to the 2wd models....and I miss my ole truck so I'm posting for nostalgia lol shoulda never sold that thing, I didn't realize what I had at the time :( since I sold it I may have seen like one other 1980 4x4, and I have NEVER seen another 1980 4x4 reg cab. Most 4x4's were king cabs with NAPZ motors. I have seen 4x4's with reg cabs and NAPZ motors and 4x4's with L motors but KC and 4x2's with L20b's and reg cab but never....NEVER all 3, and imo the reg cab 4x4 had the best look for 720's and I definitely preffer L20b to any of the NAPZ motors....it was like my ideal datto truck and now its gone and I have yet to find one to replace it... :( 1 Quote Link to comment

poor-mans-720
This is my truck about a week ago. I tore out the D44 and went to yota. Didnt want to spend the money on D44 gears and locker, had a yota axle with a detroit locker, and matching gears front and rear. So i did my best to hold out the longest on not putting yota gear in there. But its hard not too, the stuff is just so durable, cheap, and easy to find. 1 Quote Link to comment

Zlich
dang :( that sucks. any tips for mounting the gas shocks? I wouldnt mind removing the torsion bars. and did you make that skid plate yourself? Quote Link to comment
nissanprerunnerdavid
mounting the gas shocks is just a bolt on application. just take the old shock out and put the gas shocks in. if your thinking coilovers then you will need to modify your shock hoop and brace it. then make a mounting place on the lca. i had big plans for this truck i just dont have the money to fab all this stuff up. and the skid plate is deff homemade haha. its a big Railroad crossing sign i "found" somewhere and cut it down and bent it. i have a huge 4x4 sheet of 1/8" aluminum waiting for a better one to be made but i sold her instead.
