Interrobang
if i take off my front bumper will the front airbag sensor still work? Airbag sensor? I'm confused. Quote Link to comment
MurphyEF
Hmm....mine doesn't have an airbag.... Quote Link to comment
sonethirty
Airbag sensor? I'm confused. Agreed. I'm pretty sure the z32 was the first to have airbags. Only safety items on my ZX are seatbelts and a sexy lady voice that reminds me if I leave my door open or lights on. lol. Go here: http://xenons130.com/reference.html Download the FSM for your Z. READ IT. USE IT. Quote Link to comment
Jomz Shakes
well not airbag sensor , like a seat bet sensor to retract the seat belt. like a seatbelt pretensioner that locks seatbelt when the sensor kicks on. is there any front collision sensors up front? Quote Link to comment
72240z
Your thinking there are way more electronics then there are lmao DL the FSM Quote Link to comment
MurphyEF
Agreed. On my ZX all I have are the 34 year old seatbelts, no bi*&$%@# Betty to warn me that my door is open or my lights are on. Quote Link to comment
Unfriendly Garage
if i take off my front bumper will the front airbag sensor still work? does it control our seatbelts? do they have pretensioners like modern cars? I want to weld a bar across the front air dam and i dont want to jimmy rig a airbag sensor. Pick up a used race steering wheel Remove the airbag wheel all together. Quote Link to comment
Jomz Shakes
it doesnt have a airbag, and yes im dying to get a wheel, what cheap way should i do my front end, I want to weld a bar"almost like a alloy pipe" across my front bumper and have mesh above and below it and my turn signals behind the mesh. what do i do for the lower part? ArchetypeDatsun
Don't know if you seen this guy's car? Quote Link to comment
Unfriendly Garage
^ that yellow zx is new to me ^ any more photos? Jomz you should just experiment with some ideas. Get your pipe for the bumper. Start cutting and welding, see what looks goOd. The bumper on the yellow zx posted could have looked better if it wrapped around the sides of the front. 72240z
I think for experimentation something like pvc makes more sense. Wouldnt start cutting and welding until you actually know what your trying to do. Quote Link to comment
sonethirty
I saw someplace where a guy cut his front bumper and recessed it a bit. Maybe slimming it down a bit and recessing it will look better. Or filling in the bumper indention's on either side and rigging up a grill..? Quote Link to comment

Jomz Shakes
I LOVE IT, THAT CAR IS AWESOME. I want to implement that type of front bumper to mine, i like the single bar though, not the cage like front bumper. what do you think a little thicker for the pipe and have it wrap around the front bumper? i want it to look like the front end of my 350z a single bar with black mesh above and below it. i like the bottom add on and i definately am gonna zip tye it on. 72240z
It looks to me like there is a jack stand right behind the jack. Also looks like a handle bolt on the jack jiggled loose and fell of just like on mine lol Quote Link to comment
Unfriendly Garage
Jomz just get a 240z bumper and mod it to fit. That will look better than making a bumper. That was my original plan, but my parts car got junked. ^240 bumper is best stock z bumper Here is a link to my zdriver s130 thread. project awful hero Quote Link to comment
Jomz Shakes
ya that looks good actually what does everyone else think Quote Link to comment
72240z
I think style wise it doesnt fit at all but that just me... I think a shaved 280z bumper would look better. 2 Quote Link to comment
Jomz Shakes
good opinion^ anyone else feel the same way, i might go full custom instead of trying to make it look like a different type of z, but its up in the air now Quote Link to comment
