screamer510
Why not just mount it higher? Just my $0.02 Quote Link to comment
philcas1987
gets in the way of the rad. Yes there is a difference on early and late. But the modified he frame there. You would have to do the same thing to both. Quote Link to comment
blazter1
@screamer510 if put the intercooler where it's flush to the cross brace of the frame I have about 1.5" of the radiator that sticks out, reason that it hits the intercooler outlet/inlet. So I though maybe smaller radiator but the size is too small as it will be about 11" by 24" with tanks seams to small for a 510 with an Sr. @Philips1987, yah I went back to the pictures and I noticed the notch but didn't know if it was stock I've looked on google for pics and never found it. So much for buying the setup and finding out that's "little cutting will be needed" really means I'll be cutting up the frame of the car. Talk about vague. Well what ideas do you guys have I've hit a write block sort of say on what to do here Quote Link to comment
xzile609
I'm about to install the same inter cooler and cxracing radiator in my car this weekend. I will try to put some pics up as to what ill have to do. I don't think you have to cut the frame but you will cut out some of the cross brace area. I haven't actually test fit yet so ill let you know what I find. Quote Link to comment

xzile609
Started by cutting out the metal for the inter cooler Cut a piece out of the support looks like this. Did not cut the lower support. Had to clearance the valance Tested the mounting. Looks good, I cut out the metal for the IC the mounting bracket didn't line up like they show in the Ebay page. The bottom mounting brackets did not line up with the 2 large holes. So we welded in a small strip of metal to support those mounts. Then installed the CXracing Radiator just on top of the Intercooler it fits great just above it. Just make sure you leave a gap so that you can get your clamps and silicone hoses attached to the inlet pipies. I also noticed that there was much more room in front of the engine that when I had the KA24de installed. So I was able to install the shroud it came with so happy about there here are the shots of it without and with the shroud for the 2 electric 12inch slim fans. Might not be the best install but I like it alot. Clears the hood no problem. 1 Quote Link to comment
blazter1
It looks good so did you cut flush to the center brace? Quote Link to comment
xzile609
Yea cut flush. Had to tack weld some of the sheet metal just below that center brace I guess that its a C Chanel and not square. It looked square because of the thin metal in front of it. A friend of mine did all the fab work. Quote Link to comment
