flatcat19
Found this from the boys over at InfamousNIssan. For sure, a good bit of info. Doesn't answer questions as to differences between the DE to E. Just the single slammer E. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Maybe we can send a link to this post to add some info to theirs. S13 pistons are fully floating on the rods. The rod small ends are bronze? bushed and reamed to fit the piston pins. There is also a hole drilled in the top of the rod to allow for lubrication. Because the pins a floating the pistons have a groove in the pin hole for cir-clips or snap rings to prevent the pin sliding sideways and scuffing the cylinder wall. KA-Es in the D21 do not have this feature. . Quote Link to comment

This is a pretty dead thread but. I have d21 pistons 'no C clips' and 240sx rods. Im worried that if I put the pistons on the rods the pin will walk out. Would I need to get d21 rods in order to put these piston in my 240sx bottom end? Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
I would think the D21 pons need to be pressed in to the pistons, making it so they won't slide out. Give it a try; report back. If you can slide them in and out with little effort, won't work long term. Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
The pin goes into the piston easy! But the pin is a bit harder to get onto the rod end. But it does go in both pretty easy.. Took a little force but still.. I think it will walk out. Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
So I'll be using the ones with clips. Haha Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Yeah, If you can do it by hand, you have a problem. Those push in rod pins usually require lots of force or super heating the rod end. They should be loose in the piston, but not the rod. 1 Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
Thanks. Guess I'll use the used ones. 1 Quote Link to comment
