brake booster

i need to make a little room for a air box on my su carbs.do i need an adaptor or something to delete my brake booster or a new master cylinder, and will it hurt my brake performance.:blink:

1st off clean engine bay!!! 2nd, what some HB owners are doing are running Geo metro brake boosters. They are smaller & very similar in design. The reason for the Geo booster is when they do a body drop & lose clearence. But it should work fine on the 620's.

dosen't your 620 have su's on it, if so what kind of linkage did you go with.bell crank and cable,or the little rods with ball joints etc.is there a kit you can buy maybe?

so just go to the part store and get a metro brake booster and still run the 620 master right? will that pull it in closer to the firewall also? and X2 on the clean bay!!!

you are going to run the full stock airbox over the SU's? Why not just put the smaller filters that I see on most SUs? I know clearance is an issue..

 

 

They can look just as nice as the air boxes imho..

 

 

My brother told me one time that he had actually found blue filter oil... might match your theme.. :cool:

On my throttle i hooked up the stock speedo cabe to a temp. mount on the SU linkage. I need to come up with a better setup soon.

Nissan used to have a kit for installing the SU's onto the 620's. I bought the kit in the early 90's. This kit only included parts to hook the throttle linkage from the 620 to the SU's. It did not do anything for the aircleaners.

Gensaiken, it looks like in that pic they deleted there brake booster. i think i've maybe seen one 620 online that had su's with his brake booster and he had a custom air box so he would have clearance.yellow620,i bought a kit from motorsports and it was not very helpful, i think the simplest thing will be a cable linkage.

I'm not even sure if all the 510s had a booster. My 68 had a single master.

None of them had the booster. Even with out a booster it's still pretty close to the master..

They early 620s ran a 4" brake booster not sure when they went to 7".  I have a used 4" off an early 620 in my garage I will ship it to you for the cost of shipping.  I can throw a vacuum pump on it to check the diapram to see if it is good.

 

Let me know if you are interested by pm and I will test it and take pictures of it.
