charlie6178
oh yeah, we've done tons of those! we dont see too many now days, but when we started the place, we were doing 4-5 per week! Quote Link to comment
RandyinRenton
Hmmm... seems like an old L20B head would be highly discounted. Especially for cheapskates like us :) Quote Link to comment
Suspect
DISLEXICDIME I do like torque and high revs. I've done a V8 Swap in a S-10 pickup but I'm not going to cut any of my Datsuns to take a shortcut like that, even though it would be effective. What do you have in mind? Quote Link to comment
Suspect
I'm going with the Z22 block and L series head, intake, timing cover, and chain. I was wondering what pistons I can use and overbore size. Do you have any ideas? Quote Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
You can usually go 4mm overbore from stock bore. The z22 block is basically the same as a l20b with the exception that it's NOT fully counter balanced crank like l20b... Also which z22? I think you better go start doing some research... There's TONS of info about l-series building. I hate to burst your bubble though... It would be cheaper to drop in a ka24e and more power and torque... Quote Link to comment
Suspect
I'm just trying to work with what I got. The number on the Z22 is 06W. Quote Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
once you start talking overbore, or stroker L motor... Even if you are starting with a block you already have, it's not gonna be cheap. Will you be doing all the work yourself? How much of it will you do? A truck ka can be had for under $500, and as low as $150 running, they also bolt to a z series tranny... Quote Link to comment
Bugeye
I personally like the L20 simple to work on and simple to mod Quote Link to comment
marioburke
What is a good L head to run with a Z22 block (U6W) with the RY-6116 Pistons, bored .040? and a good carb? Quote Link to comment
florida510
What will be the best Valve lash set up for that 280 Duration Cam with 86 Flat Top Pistons? Quote Link to comment
