drjeffreys
Having trouble finding anything this small for a 7j stretch.. a handful of companys make this size and slightly larger sizes, but theres not many made i suppose. Can anyone point me in the right direction? or post pics of 155s on a 7j to keep me occupied? lol Quote Link to comment
Dawa
geez, im surprised those exist at all. why such a stretch? have you checked ebay and craigslist? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
155/55/14 does not exist. 55-series is high performance, but 155-section is not. I have 175s on 7" wheel, and it is a stretch. No part of the tire extends beyond the rim edge. Quote Link to comment
drjeffreys
155/55/14s are made by federal, nankang, and kumho, and couple others, but hard to get in to north america apparently.. All list on there websites and such. 175 = 7" wide, so its not really considered a stretch, mind you different brands sit wider or thinner then they are said to.. I will continue my search, thanks for the input Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
175 tires are by manufacturer spec not supposed to be put on any rim wider than 6". So if you put on 7" rim, it is stretched. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Dunlop&tireModel=Graspic+DS-3&partnum=77QR4DS3&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&tab=Specs Quote Link to comment
INDY510
. Look at some stanced small euro's ... .. alot of them are running 14" tires I've never seen or heard of ..... let me know if you find a Nakang dealer for North America: These are 14x8 Work Equips with Falken ZIEX ZE-512 155/55/14 tires ... on a 3-4" raised subframe/body dropped LADA: these tires look much better .... don't look like Falkens or 155's: Definately not 155's It's my new favorite car/build in the world .... . drjeffreys
175 tires are by manufacturer spec not supposed to be put on any rim wider than 6". So if you put on 7" rim, it is stretched. http://www.tirerack....1=yes&tab=Specs i disagree, if you have a look at the "section width" it states the width sidewall to sidewall of the tire mounted on appropriate rim, which is 7" for a 175/55. This being said, it sits flush with a 7" wide rim. A 165 or 155 would be considered an actual stretch.. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Your opinion doesn't change what the manufacturer specs say. Tirerack.com says: Rim Width Range: 4.5-6" The Section width you mentioned is the nominal width of the tire when mounted on a recommended rim width -- so the tire is wider than the rim (opposite of stretched). My 175s are not flush on 7" wheel. They are a little stretched, not flush. Because the tread is not as wide as the section. Quote Link to comment
drjeffreys
Pics or it didnt happen, clearly your definition of a stretch is more subtle then mine. Quote Link to comment
