Pulled engine/replaced...now Auto Choke Relay buzzing

Recommended Posts

So I pulled my engine to replace my clutch and replace all my gaskets. When I put the engine back in and everything was "running properly" I turned the key and the truck would not turn off. What I believe is the Auto Choke Relay which is attatched to the same mounting bracket as the Fuel Pump Relay starting buzzing and would not stop until I unplugged it. When unplugged the engine starts and stops with the key fine. Could this all be coincidence or did I hook something up incorrectly when reassembling the motor? Any thoughts?

Have a look at the choke heater and idle cut solenoid wires at the carb or maybe the connector to the carb. Do you have a two wire or larger round connector with 5? wires to the carb??? Check the connector is plugged in properly. Blue is choke heater and red (although it might have a black sheath over it) is the idle cut wire.
