I was planning on drifting mine, but as the time passed I realized I've yet to see another truck like mine... Don't wanna destroy it.. Gonna keep it classic, but still got big plans..

For now, just my daily.

I'll be following your progress

So I have this issue...

I have no power whatsoever when the truck is off (not running).. Clock stops, no power to dome light, etc... Even in accessory mode.

I do have power to all of these when I start the truck. However, I get only around 12 volts when running, and my radio turns off when I turn on my running lights (or any lights) due to the slight voltage drop to about 10-11 volts... When I turn off the engine, key turned to acc, all power cuts off again, clock stops, etc... And It'll diesel for a few seconds sometimes...

Just replaced the battery earlier, as it was the wrong one and a tad bit smaller than what it should have been.. Also wasn't taking a charge. Yet the problem persists..

I'm thinking a bad ground, but where should I check first..?

Initially I was thinking the alternator, but I don't see how it going out can completely cut off all power when the truck is off as far as I know.. But I haven't cancelled that out just yet. Gonna drop it and get it tested when I have some time..

As for updates on progress, not much yet. Just waiting on some leather so I can finally get my seats reupholstered.. I've been driving my car around for the past few days, and man it sucks.. I miss my truck already..

Visually inspected fusible links a few days ago (since the Cornwell truck is lagging on some tools I ordered), everything looks cool..

Thought I'd drop the alternator to get it tested.. So I took it to Autozone, everything checked out ok... Damn..

As I was reinstalling it, the 29 year-old tensioner bolt decided that it was time to go by decapitation.. Closed the hood.

Took the alternator to work the next day, extracted the bolt. Noticed that the ground stud was missing from the back of the alternator

Took a look inside and there it was chillin... Damn.. (was obviously there when I removed it, so it must have had broken loose and fallen in during transportation).. Took apart the alternator and tossed the stud. Installed a new stud, rethreaded where I had extracted.. Cleaned up the alternator real good with electrical cleaner.

Got home, reinstalled the alternator.. Started truck and bam 14 volts... I now had power in accessory mode, also with the truck off (dome light).

Ran a few errands, and after a few hours, I'm driving home and I notice that I'm back down to 12 volts engine running.. Shit.

No power in accessory mode, or completely off... Clock stopped.. Next day, back to normal 14 volts running

Intermittent issue, what could this be...? I drove it all day today and it didn't happen, but I'm expecting it...

Figured out it was the alternator slowly going out... Will get 12 volts output once in a blue moon now.. Will be upgrading to a higher output once I start the engine work..

Moving on, I just got Beebani's brackets in the mail, so once I gather up a few more parts I'll have my rear disc conversion done. Ordered some wheels yesterday, will be picking them up tomorrow. Also got my Belltech 2" drop spindles in the mail about a week ago (will be installing once I get new wheels on). Will upload eye candy of all this later today or tomorrow if time permits. My apologies..

Also, if anybody has intel on where I can find butterfly windows for the rear, let me know! I've been keeping an eye out with no luck so far..

I DO, however, have eye candy of something on the other side of my driveway..... Picked this up to drive around while I'm puttin' in work on my trokita...

(will not have its own build thread, as nothing will be done to this...)

Just slapped on some tires and threw in a head unit, good to go. Needs a few things, but all original..

Nice score ST with power windows. Let me know if you ever want to sell it, or trade for my 720 and some cash

I am actually selling it at the moment, because I just came up on a super beetle and I can drive that one around. I may consider the trade as well, lemme just check yours out...

Nice trucks!   On the red truck, your front bumper markers are on upside down, or on the wrong sides.  The smaller of the 2 bulbs should be on the outside, not the inside.

Thanks. Yea I noticed that too shortly after I took that picture. If you look at the most recent picture of the red 720 (just the front end), you'll see they're properly installed  ;)

So I took some quick pics when I got home. Not the best photos...

Belltech drop spindles:

These came out to approximately 260.somethin' after I used the code "LIKEUSFB" (save 10%) on thesuspensionsource.com if anybody is interested.

Oh and I scored today at the Long Beach HiPo Swap Meet. It's only a pair but hey, $40 bucks for these bad boys. (Rikens 15x10, not sure of the model?)

Will be throwing rubber on these wheels when I get some time to install the drop spindles... Picked them up yesterday, and tried one on the rear. Had them made, 15x8 all around... Gotta take the gay lil stickers off the center caps as well...

I'd run the Rikens in the back. Would look mean as hell.

I would, if I had a complete set.

Drop spindles require 17" wheels minimum, you can get away with 16" if they have the right offset.

Aww shit. Well I'll do some experimenting.. If anything I'll run some st's with a spacer temporarily

Anything smaller than 16"s will hit on the lower control arm. Even with 16"s you will have issue with rubbing on the tension rod bolt when you turn. On my friends old truck we cut off part of the tension rod to clear the 16" Z71 wheels (with alot of offset).

The st's work with spindles and 1/4" spacer but you still have to cut and grind loop form the lower control arm.

and i pulled the windows if you still need them.
