metalmonkey47
Yup, sure is. KA24DE has roots in Datsun. It's a direct descendant from the L series motors. Good aftermarket, fairly cheap to buy, and reliable. Quote Link to comment
darc510
i'd say they are... how much is the seller looking for on it? was/is it known good or not so much? Quote Link to comment

Dawa
i responded to your other thread on the same topic of what ive 'heard.' a junked 240 with lsd is definitely a good find, though! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
'92, must be an S13 motor. The truck KA24DEs weren't until about '98 and were lighter and assembled in Mexico. wreck in junkyard. i got LSD out of it. engine trans still there. condition unknown. They only had viscous LSDs. I'm BLUE
found one-dohc red valve cover. can get. so "blue" this aint no classified ad. its a question. its called helping others out as i have no interest in this engine-but dont want to see it go to waste. I thought a for sale-ad might have HELPED your direction as people dont look in "general discussion" sections for engines/trans... it's a pure speculation area... No need for "callow"(as I was called) remarks or assuming intentions. Welcome to Ratsun ... I try to help out where I can. The search button works wonders! :) 1 Quote Link to comment

nemesis
fuck it. i'm a "newbie" to vintage datsuns. i've spent most of my life dealing with italian and british cars. i dont know the "lingo" with engine/trans #'s. so i didnt know what it was or if it was desireable. so i asked. but you know what-i was in a 68 510 when it was new-and i've prob fixed more cars than you've seen. maybe not datsuns-but none the less. here i'm trying to give back-or trying to give someone a chance at something that maybe valuable to those who want.way to piss on that. datzenmike
In high school my best friend had a '64 MG Midget (he really wanted a Jag) but this was ok and we had a lot of fun with it, even drove to Boston in it. Yes the KA24DE is desirable. Makes about 160 hp. I really like the 71C transmission, very strong. Quote Link to comment
Digi7al Trauma
Am I missing something? The tone of the post seems rather surly. at least i wasnt the only one that picked up on it but back on subject.... desireable.... you could say that, because they are a cheap way to bring some reliable power or to "modernize" our ol dats.... Thanks for the heads up that there is one at that jy, and hopefully some one might find that helpfull... but those motors are "dime a dozen"... btw welcome to ratsun.... word of advice...be nice to datzenmike... hes an encyclopedia of knowledge.... oh and skibs.... but because he likes bringing out the ban hammer 1 Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
There are plenty of people on the east coast with Datsuns that would love to have that engine combo. The ECU, wiring, and various sensors would be desirable as well. Good lookin 'out. B) Quote Link to comment
