@xxmass thanks for the comments!! I'm really excited to get going!! I've done other swaps before, but this is by far the most excited i've been for one!!

@mopar if someone is in the area and is traveling up there i'll be happy to throw the auto stuff in a truck and give it to a fellow Ratsun member!

@]2eDeYe giving you full credit for this swap! your build thread is the reason I'm doing this!

Hope this thread helps as much as many of the threads have helped me out while compiling the parts and putting this together, I will try to be as thorough throughout the process as the other member have been!!

Well... Off to more Oics!! Picked up something today and forgot to post another so here we go!!

Fidanza Flywheel ( I haven't pulled the transmission yet to look at the condition of the clutch and flywheel, but i couldn't pass this deal up found on craigslist $100!! Now I'm searching to find a good price on a clutch.. Any recommendations? I love Nissan parts)

]2eDeYe's KA24DE/E Motor Mounts ( A must if your doing this swap!! Hit him up I'm sure this is going to give me alot less headache along the way!! Thanks ]2eD!!!!)

Hey, y'all. New to this forum but not new to Datsuns by any stretch of the imagination. More on that later. The main reason I'm here is to keep an eye on Ace. I'm his next door neighbor, my garage door is open often, and if any of my missing tools show up here this thread may terminate soon thereafter....................just sayin'

Peace, Dave

Ok so here's the rundown, the KA and 720 transmission bolted together pretty easily, I had a tough time getting the motor in place, since i really didn't have another body to help me manuever the motor around. ]2eDeye recommended motor mounts, centerlink and crossmember removal for ease of placing the motor in, so i took his advice and just removed the motor mounts and centerlink and lowered the motor and tranny as low as i could, thankfully it worked out, driveshaft yolk needed a little turn to fit the tranny and thankfully again I didnt need to modify my driveshaft..I bolted in my transmission before I did the motor mounts, after the transmission was in place i used a jack to raise the motor high enough to get the motor mounts in place and voila the motor fit like a freakin glove!!

On to wiring so I will update as soon as i take more Oics!!

FYI: Move the rubber tube that holds the speedometer cable above the motor before you

Looks great.

ggzilla,

You have to flip the center link to gain clearance for the pan. The inserts were used to revese the taper in the steering arms.

Thanks for the response red... The inserts worked great! They actually lowered the centerlink a little lower since it had about a 1/8" lip...

Looking very good! Are you using a frontier or 240 motor? If i were you i would have AT LEAST refinished the engine bay before-hand and masked off,

Motor is out of a S13 chassis....I actually cleaned everything off real nice, but working underneath a 30+ year old truck and working the motor back and forth to sit right in the engine bay it got a little dirty... Hahahaah! I'll clean it up soon enough... Want it to run first...

looking god cuz.

thanks bruddah!
