Drove this 600 miles down to San Luis yesterday.  Took it in for an alignment and was told it had lower worn ball joints which were causing the uneven wear on my tires, on the wear bars on the inside with less than 2k miles on the tires.  Managed to wrangle up some moog replacement joints and got them installed.  Hoped that solved the issue well enough to make it but only drove 150 miles before I had to stop and get an alignment due to scary toe wear.

Good enough to be a daily if you can drive through this without any worries

I have been looking for a good roof rack for my 280z. Yours looks great and probably gets the job done. What brand is it and or model?

Yakima rack fitted for rain gutters.  Originally fitted to one of my old dimes but easily fits on any datsun with rain gutters.

Last visit here was 3 years and 10 days ago.  Doubtful if he's accidentally drop by but someone else may know.

Surprisingly still hooked up to one of my old emails.  This has been such a throwback to come back to this thread three years later.

If anyone is curious, I still have the 240, its been in storage since around the last post.

Since then I've been a little more modern.  After I sold my SR20 4 door 510, I was briefly in an E36 M3, then a R32 GTR skyline, STI forester and a couple other odds and ends such as S13, G35.

While the Z is in storage, I currently sit with an imported 1990 HDJ81 turbo diesel land cruiser, another R32 skyline but a type m sedan on air ride, and a recent 1995 m3 acquisition.

If anyone sees this thread and is generally curious what ever happened to my cars, you can find me on instagram:

Reviving this build thread from the dead.

Can't say I'm proud of the work I did as a kid but as I approach the big three zero, figure it's time to update where this Z has gone. Throwing a ton of words on page and attaching pics to the bottom since I don't know how to add inline pics anymore.

Few years back I pulled the Z out of storage picked up a couple RBs, a 20 & 25. Decided it was time to finally make my original dream a reality: a USDM 432 240z. Gathered all the parts for the engine and dropped it all off with Dave over at Rebellos.

The goal: de-stroked RB25 to RB24 with triple carbs. 4 valves, 3 carbs, 2 cams in a 2.4L 240z.

First things first, had to yank out all the stupid shit I did as a kid and slapped the triple SKs back in. Then added T3 rear end & wilwood front BBK which got the Z back to roadworthy and driving around.

Picked up more parts like TEs and a CD00a. The Z ended up sitting for another year while I was playing around with ideas on how to mount carbies up to an RB head as well as stripping the carbs down and rebuilding them.

Finally, earlier this year I figured it's time to start the real build which involves everything except for stripping the body itself.

At this point, I'm still waiting for the engine to be completed after 2 years but the rest of the car is close to being buttoned up.

Ultimately have redone, replaced, or upgraded everything from interior, wiring, brake lines, gauges, etc. Some of the highlights are probably the apex engineered front end, all brake compenents are willwood with my own custom brake lines, installed a vintageair gen 2 heater, re-wired the entire chassis with modern DT connectors, blade fuses, relays, installed a haltech VMS that will be running the ignition, and the AGI rollbar which I welded in the brackets into the side frame.

If ya wanna see more, there are hundreds of pics on my IG story highlights all along the way but that being said, no one can ever fully document how much work goes into these cars.
