Icehouse
So I was going through a manual I had and this was the picture for 89 240sx. What engine is that? I thought maybe it was just a JDM picture but if you look close you will notice that it is left hand drive. I'm very confused.... What do you guys think about this pic, is it a conspiracy? Or where they planing on bringing the ca18det to the states... Quote Link to comment
freekwonder
looks like a CA18 to me. They probably originally though about it, but after SR they probably changed their minds. I still don't understand why we didn't get the SR or CA18DET. Not that the KA24 is bad, I like it. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
H-m-mmm. Not a CA18 or a CA18ET the valve cover is different and the turbo blows over top of the valve cover and into the EFI from the driver's side. Quote Link to comment
Bleach
its not a CA18et, its a CA18DET as Icehouse said. The Aussie and JDM turbo CA does go forward like that. That's notthe argument. That is a CA engine in a 240SX... unless its really a 4-cyl RB :D RB18DET??? haha Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
No argument here Bleach, I wasn't saying it was CA18ET, only telling freekwonder what it isn't and why. Quote Link to comment
Bleach
ok. :D I now think its an RB18DET Quote Link to comment
Icehouse
weird huh? It's right hand drive and it has the CA18DET It was in a old datto book to.... I'm so confused? Who ever screwed us over is a dick.... The ka guys could of stole it out of the truck. We wanted a USDM SR and CA and RB18DET for bleach :D Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Nissan do this a lot. In my 1200 factory service manual, it looks like a LHD car, but on close inspection it is just a flipped photo with USA badges photoshopped on! Or whatever they used instead of photoshop back in 1970. Quote Link to comment
