JoeR
Anyone had any luck using JB weld to fix exhaust leaks? My collector pipe is cracked where it joins to the manifold and I'm wondering if JB welf would work to seal the leak. Quote Link to comment

poor-mans-720
they make this exhaust putty, kinda like JB weld... Ya can find it at auto parts. I bought some once, to fix my exhaust manifold, it said it was good for like 2000 degrees or something. Might work for your needs. It was like $6... I didn't have to use it. Ended up finding another manifold. Quote Link to comment
Farmer Joe
jb weld in both its forms, eventually burns off the manifold within a few months.. the qwik kind i find works better and lasts longer.. lol.. but find a real fix... Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
JB Weld is not rated for exhaust parts, but only for 500 degrees. It is superb for carburetor parts though. Fixing threads, and all sorts of metal stuff. The only failure I ever had with it, I tried it on a plastic radiator tank, let it cure the required hours, but it leaked as soon as the pressure built.
