sergio510
added to my shopping list for the JY... i forgot how much a pain it was to fill up. Thanks :) Quote Link to comment
yellowdatsun
Using a modified filler neck is probably the best option. The full length rubber ones have been NLA for years now. The stubby filler tube, used on the metal neck, is probably also NLA by now. The piece near the tank is easy, you can just use a piece of fuel rated hose. These are the kind of parts, where if you even *think* you may need one in the near future, and you see it on ebay, BUY IT. Quote Link to comment

07FlyingWagon
Sorry to resurrect a one year old thread, but does any one have any updates on this? I just removed the fuel tank from my 4door and I am going to have it boiled and resealed..... BUT I destroyed the filler tube in the process of removing it.... Does any one else foresee any issues with doing the 240z filler neck convert and then doing a customized tube? Or better yet has anyone else done it besides the folks from DimeQuarterly? :-) (Which by the way was an awesome write up!!) Quote Link to comment
Creepy Cruiser
I'm actually mocking up right now, an inexpensive, super easy (no welding) alternative solution, that should come in at under $25, using early 90's wrecking yard parts. (for the common Datsun freak, lol). I'll do a full wright up once it's fully tested. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/56478-fuel-filler/ (scroll down a ways) 1 Quote Link to comment
07FlyingWagon
Thanks Creepy! I had read that thread and saw what you did in that and liked it very much :-) I was just hopping to drum up some buzz about the subject ;-) Look forward to your write up :-) Quote Link to comment
deleterius
I know this is an old thread, but anyone see these...... http://www.fillernecksupply.com/2-1-4-cab-and-chassis-flatbed-fuel-filler-neck-5-8-vent-gas/ http://www.fillernecksupply.com/2-1-4-inch-soft-wall-rubber-fuel-filler-neck-hose-sold-per-inch/ with necks getting hard to find, thought this may help. Would have to modify (shorten) the neck a bit for clearance, but Dimers are always modding..... 1 Quote Link to comment

Would have to modify (shorten) the neck a bit for clearance, but Dimers are always modding..... you can get a filler neck from a yard for like $5. These are actually a pretty common filler design. What's nice is you can use a modern Nissan fuel cap. Quote Link to comment

Maybe buy multiple to make it worth while? I'm sure the increase will be insignificant. Quote Link to comment
