Cutting the steering column down will make a huge difference in these trucks. It was built for 5ft zero farmer with t-rex arms.

Absolutely!!!  BUT!!!!  When you do, you will need to put a smaller steering wheel in.  Since the column is at an angle, when you shorten it, it pulls the wheel down so close to the seat(stock bench at least) that you almost can't get your leg under it.

It would be easy enough to machine the input shaft on the steering box to use a DD joint, and then have an exposed shaft. If you need the clearance, this would be huge.
