Fisch Art- Sneaks datsun illustrations into kidsbooks!

Recommended Posts

Thought you guys would appreciate this. Most of you know I am an illustrator who does kids books, novels that sort of thing. So I finished two books over the last few months and snuck some Datsun art in there!

In this book. I did 75 silhouettes, and the author never wrote what type of car it was so... mua ha ha. (And I gave it a Ratsun Badge. Represent!)

Here is the rest of the book.

This one is a children's book and is a sequel to one I did that came out last year. This is my 510! (Though I had to get creative with the proportions to make the characters big enough!)

So, even when I am not on Ratsun, I am on Ratsun.

Now that's being creative.. lol.. I like the art on the yellow datto...

Thanks guys! Heh, they made me add the shoulder belts to the yellow one. "But that isn't stock on a 71 510!" they didn't care! Gotta make sure the kiddies are safe you know. :P (Well I can imagine a SR20DET under the hood. Hrumph...)

Thanks brothers! King, the silhouettes are Photoshop cause I had to do 80 pieces of art in a month and a half, so it sped me up! But the kidsbook is all traditional media, Acrylagouache and FW acrylic ink put on with brayers and sponges a brushes, then used sandpaper on it.Then I inked the lines with a brush. Every color you see was cut as an individual mask/stencil.

It got pretty complicated to say the least, this was a simple one! I thought of Skib while working on it cause he is a stencil cutting fool! But instead of spraypaint I used tube paint.

It has been over a month of 4-5 hours of sleep a night to hit these deadlines! I have one novel cover to go over the next week, and I will have finished the 80!

(I have a permanent indent in my middle finger where I cradle the blade handle lol)

Indent! I have the opposite. You know how real mechanic guys, well like most of you mo-fos, have callusus from holding wrenches and hammers and stuff? Well I have one massive callus on my middle finger from drawing and painting 60 hours a week. But my palms are soft as my wife's, it is kinda sad. (I need to get in the garage more...):P

I get up and turn Ratsun on before having a piss. Ride to work and fire up Ratsun on company computer. Usually go out and work but on the odd occasion are at the office for lunch so I stuff a sandwich and go on Ratsun instead. Today we were done by 12:45 and back to the office and for some reason sat with co workers and ate lunch. Am only now seeing this post fisch. Damn that is so cool. Some kid will remember that car or some parent will. You may never find out but it's often that way. Sometimes we say or do things that have lasting impressions on others.
