elmerfudpucker
I am looking to just step up to a h233 of a pathfinder, it has LSD and it will push the wheels out 3/4" more, and give me disk brakes. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
You might be able to find a detroit if you are really, really, really lucky or an LSD if you are only slightly less lucky. They are no longer in production for the H190. Quote Link to comment
Z chopper
I think Nissan still has the detroit locker unit available, how easily it is to obtain I have no idea Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
LSD is not a locker. LSD slips, just a limited amount. The Detroit Locker will actually lock up under certain circumstances. If Nissan still has the Detroit Locker, then it is very easy to obtain. Just take your credit card down to your local Nissan parts dealer and fork over the money. Quote Link to comment
trentos
hopefully it is that easy from nissan. but i think if it was the half dozen mechanics i been to would have said something. the diff is a 29 spline, 10 bolt, ratio 3.25. i have asked one person about the chrysler 29slpine 10 bolt but he said no. i dont want to change the housing as my 4 link is set up from it, so the pathfinder is very last resort or may go with the holden rodeo to keep the same 6 wheel stud pattern, Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Were any of your half dozen mechanics Datsun-Nissan specialists? But here at Ratsun there are such specialists. Here is a new Detroit Locker that copydat in Sidney was installing earlier this month: I assume he bought it new old stock (off eBay?) as that looks like US Postal Service packaging. trentos
going to drop into nissan with the centre in 2 days time so see how i go. i have heard the nissan silva s 12 also used the H190 Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
PM'd. A guy on the bluebird list has one, probably for sale since he thought it was an R180 LSD. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Is the Bluebird list back? They had moved to a web site, and posts nearly stopped ... Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Don't expect Centre Nissan will have it. But maybe they can order it. They do use the Tractech brand "Detroit Locker" in the new Titan pickups but that is the larger H233 size. Only $600 new! http://www.performanceoffroadcenter.com/oscommerce/index.php?manufacturers_id=22 Quote Link to comment
trentos
i emailed porc, so see what they come back with. i was running a bluebird diff for a trip to a show and there was a spacer block in the middle of the diff missing, made a awefull humm for 17 hrs of driving. only want to pull it apart to put the locker in Quote Link to comment
trentos
ok. so the local nissan bloke was a waste of time. i emailed nissan australia so see where we go from that. still trying to follow up about the s12 gazelle diff. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Nismo listed an H190 LSD in their 2010 catalog, but probably they'd need to order it from Japan. The S12 turbo here had no LSD, but it was available from Nissan Competition. Many Nissan dealers don't want to order parts out of country. I'm not sure why, since they make a profit on it... trentos
well sent them a email so see how that goes. spend more time on the pc to find info and parts than actually working on the car Quote Link to comment
