mr928
I'm picking up a very stock 1970 521 and it needs new tires. What size or spec should I get? It has P185/75r/14 's but from what I read they are taller than stock. Is this preferable to get better hyw cruzing? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Stock tire size is 6.00 X 14 by the old way of ID ing the tires. This works out to a 14" tire that is 23.65" tall in order to keep your speedo accurate. The 185/75R14s you have now are reading 2.57 LOW when you are driving 50MPH You can have any width tread you want and keep the same or close height or diameter. 175/70R14 and 6.9"wide or 185/65R14 and 7.3" wide all the way up to 310/40R14 and 12.2" wide. All very close to the same diameter 1 Quote Link to comment
