Speedo cable for an automatic

Recommended Posts

My son's '72 sedan has a ZX 5 speed swapped in, and the speedo cable for the manual tranny is about 72" long, it reaches but keeps breaking at the bend by the tranny mount. I'm told it needs the speedo cable for an automatic which is a little longer to make a more sweeping bend at the mount. If anyone has one, please let me know. -- Mike in San Diego mlinehan@costco.com (I don't check Ratsun too often)

My 710 has the same short 4 speed with the cable on the closer driver's side. I swapped in a longer zx tranny with the drive on the pass side. I used the stock length cable by removing and routing diagonally over the bellhousing and fits perfectly. Been to Canby and back no problems whatever.
