yahoos Posted December 22, 2011 Report Share Posted December 22, 2011 Im jacob, im 20 now but was 18 when i built this any howl ive been looking on this site since I first got my datsun over 2 years ago. I decided to finally get on here to show my truck. I heard from some guy it had been posted on here before i dont know if thats true or not. anyways. i did this truck as cheap as possible building most of it i could from scraps. I only had a cutting torch and arch welder to use to. Oldschool lol When i first picked her up. I had been trying to talk my boss into selling it to me for a year and he wouldnt even tho it had set there for 20 years. I offered him a trade of a broke down vw cabreloet or whatever they are and he took it haha. up until this point it had sat there with fencing material in the bed for a good while. so the day i got her i cleaned out the bed and pulled it. so the next day i cut all the old crap out and started on the back. appearently i cnotched in wrong. but i never had any issues. then i started the 4 link Quote Link to comment

yahoos Posted December 22, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 22, 2011 At that point i had her running good in the shop. i was waiting on brake lines and other goodies to get her up and down. first drive at this point i drove the piss out of it. i put a weber on it. hb gears in the rearend , new clutch, and probably a few other little things. after running for a good while with no bed i got tired of being pulled over for it so i decided to put the bed on her got some decent attention at slamily reunion 1 Quote Link to comment

I just recently got stationed here in louisiana ive always lived in oklahoma so the 2 an a half hours was the furthest road trip i made with her to slamily in fort smith arkansas. well the idea of bobbing the bed bed had been in my head since i got it so finallyyyy.... snip snip 1 Quote Link to comment

yahoos Posted December 22, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 22, 2011 Well around the time of the show my water started mixing into my oil. :( so i had her ready for the 2nd kickerbash. but she went ehind my chevy. chilling with the yahoos at kickerbash well this was the coolest part of my datsun story. it had been in minitruckin magazine twice. both pics were small thumbnails. Well at kickerbash i parked right across from where i had the previous year and the guy comes along that had snapped the pics that got it in minitruckin before and was looking at it. me and my sister were sitting in the with the heater on because it was cold out. i told her lets get out he my wanna take a few pics so we get out and go talk to my buddies and he starts taking some pics so i walk up and talk to him. I said man you took pics of this last year when it was here. haha at that time it was still the stock longbed and white. he was confused at first but then he remembered it and thought it was cool as hell that a young guy was building it so he told me that it needs to be in minitruckin. so the next day he shot it. 2 weeks after tthat show i left for basic training, air force. after basic and almost out of my tech school i go to the bx for a monster open and minitruckin and almost crapped myslef. haha Quote Link to comment

yahoos Posted December 22, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 22, 2011 and as of right now she sits in my dads field with no motor in her and most of the airride gone. its sad. im haaving serious datsun withdrawls. i should of thought it out more of how to approach it but the military is to unpredictable. i was supposed to be further away from home so i stripped her down, then they station me 6 hrs away from home so now ima get her down in in the next year or so.
