1983 pickup- datsun or nissan?

Greetings, I just got a 1983 King Cab for $800. I drive it daily, but I want to give it some TLC- nothing major though. But it has Nissan and Datsun both printed, Datsun being smaller. The title says Datsun. Anyways hopefully I can find some advice on some of its issues. Thanks,

-mike

The latest use of the Datsun logo was on the (up to Jan '86) Maxima.

Prior to '83 the emblems often said DATSUN byNISSAN ( '79 620 truck). And the '79 DATSUN 200SX by NISSAN. Can't find anything earlier than '79 and look like all '79 had this.

The two emblems below my post are from the left and right rear of the '84 Maxima wagon. Looks like Nissan and Datsun got equal billing.

Hahaha... love the responses.

My issues include: rear wiring all messed up. I was somehow able to make a new wiring harness, identify the bad flasher, replace wiring, and get it titled, registered and insured. But in addition to the wiring, the clutch doesn't seem to always disengage. This is helped by putting in neutral and pumping clutch pedal before starting, but sometimes still, starting the car will make it try and move a little unless in neutral.

The power steering sprouted a leak so I cut off the belt that was almost falling off and now just drive without PS. This sucks, but is livable.

The main issue right now though is the fan motor stopped blowing, and it is getting cold out.

Also, there is rust, nothing structural, but what is an easy way to get rid of it? Grind out a few 6x10 inch patches and put in fiberglass or what? Leave it rust?

Also engine temperature gauge and fuel gauge do not work. And the coolant reservoir has rotted away, but the radiator holds enough coolant and I haven't had an overheating issue but then again, the temp gauge does not work.

But this is all great fun really.
