KELMO
DF: Will have to look, might be able to this weekend....since I will be looking for one (yes kids, just one) mother trucking clutch bolt. They have been bagged and stored for quite some time so I really don't know, Duncan: No, the seat bottom is different sedan to coupe.....at least by part #. 1 Link to comment

Had them in my old coupe worked just fine. 1 Link to comment

KELMO
Found the seat bottoms, one is covered with black cloth and a grey cloth insert. The other, some jackass used duct tape to hold it together when the seams started coming apart. Will uncover the seat backs tomorrow. Oh, I did find a bag of clutch bolts. And then prompty told the wife " See honey, THIS is why I never throw shit away". When I uncover the seat backs I will post pics of.......... yeah, still gotta deal with that mess. 3 Link to comment

datsunfreak
As you may have noticed, it's fairly common to work on this every week for three months, then not touch it for three months... ^_^ I was able to get an inline fuse wired in for the fuel pump relay, as well as get it back up on jack stands and the wheels off so I can put fluid in the transmission and bleed the brakes again. That should be coming fairly soon... 3 Link to comment
datsunfreak
Finally made it by Kelmo's House of Datsun last weekend, so I got the velour seat from him... For shits and giggles, I tried some fabric dye on it to see if I could make it dark blue. No such luck. Just got kinda "crunchy". Went from feeling like soft velour to feeling like 400 grit sandpaper. So now I'm going to see if I can find someone who makes/sells replacement upholstery for 1200s and go that way... Whilst talking to Kelmo, also made a deal with him for these. It's the stainless trim for the front and rear windshield... My rear window seal has the groove for the trim, but the front does not. And it's getting to be difficult/impossible to find seals with the proper groove these days. While cleaning out the garage this weekend to inventory everything (inspired by Kelmo), I found a set of seals I bought in 2007 and as it turns out, they have the correct groove in them! Also it had new door seals in it too! :w00t: Bought some speakers for the rear enclosures too. And no, I don't really like the screens too much... :P 4 Link to comment

datsunfreak
Those speaker covers look all Star-Trekkie like.. Yeah, they're definitely getting tossed... So along with the back seat, I received from Kelmo a bunch of brackets that I can only assume hold the seat into the car? After some head scratching, I think I figured out how they are supposed to go in, but we shall see. The hinge bracket on the bottom of the seat back seems wrong. Like you can't bolt it up the way it wants to go... After cleaning, painting and installing the upper brackets in the car, I noticed the passenger front seat has at some point recently done this to itself somehow... Serves me right for thinking a vintage seat would hold up. This pissed me off a lot more than it should have. While thinking of lighting the car on fire and walking away, I instead unbolted and removed the seat. Then started ruminating on how to "fix" it. I have a few ideas... Also loaded up the rear seat into the daily. Going to try and find an upholstery shop to recover it this week... 1 Link to comment

njoz1200ute
All those army green metal pieces are shims and attachments for the rear seat. Took me a while too to figure them out but you're a smart chap. Remember that the back seat upper has a lock that sets it in place and you turn the top plastic tab 90 degrees to disengage the lock 1 Link to comment

Two pics would help a lot if you don't mind. Seat bottom near the front. I am assuming those metal hoops on the seat base slide into the slots on the floor, but some confirmation would be nice. Hinge area of the seat back with the seat folded down. Again, I think I know how it goes, but how I think it goes seems wrong... ^_^ 1 Link to comment
