It is somewhat noteworthy that in one photo the car is LHD with a leaf sprung solid axle, and in the other it is RHD with IRS.

Is that worth something?

Lots, it will be the coolest 1200 in the states

I also realized that if I had been working on this for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, for about 3 months, I'd be right where I am today.   ^_^

I have literally taken as much as a year off on this project as I worked on other stuff.

While owning it, I also did this...

Where is the Bamboo 2dr now?

Don't know for 100% sure. The thing with "finished" 510s I've seen (both on here and in my own personal experience) is that they don't tend to stay with one owner very long. People who spend lots of money on finished cars tend to keep them for maybe a year or two then sell them on.

I sold it to a guy named Hector in Houston, who sold it to another guy in Houston (never knew his name), who sold it to a guy in central Texas named Bob Fast (yes, his real name). I spoke with Bob about two years ago at NismoFiesta in Austin, and he had the car there with him. He had added rear disc brakes and changed the wheels but it was otherwise just like it was when I sold it. It was one of the most "complete" 510s I've ever built. It had all new interior with power leather seats from an 2004 Maxima (front and rear), very nice suspension and 280ZX brakes, well built L20b (cam, head work, SUs, header) and a long tail 5 speed swap, all new AC system, etc. Only thing I didn't do was paint it. That's the original paint.

Long term and stagnant projects are fine if you keep them from returning to the earth.

That's why this one has always stayed inside.

Heck, in the last 20 years this car has been outside maybe 3 or 4 times? And only been washed once.   ^_^

Maybe not so much a problem for you there.

Not too much, no. If it's got a decent paint job, you want to keep it inside in the summer time. If there's any bare metal you want to keep it inside in the spring. Otherwise, it's fine.

Bought a battery tender...

Comes with two cords, for either temporary or permanent installation. Both were too short, and I wanted permanent. so...

Negative cable off for now (still some circuits to test), so ghetto rigged for the time being...

Working well, and should be nice and hot for the first fire...

Meh. It needs to be driven.

The low is perfect already.

But then he will just tear it all apart for Timmy 2.0 2030

It needs to go back on jack stands next week so I can bleed the brakes again, so it will literally take 20 minutes to lower it one inch. Relax.  ^_^

Rooting through some old parts and found another console like the one in my car now. Only in slightly better shape...    ^_^

Tim decided not to use these, and since I kinda wanted some rear speakers...

Thinking something like this, where the back seat used to be...

Trying to decide whether to put some more black carpet back there, or just paint it all satin black...    :P

That console, any idea what it came out of?  Got one just like it for the green coupe.

In the back of my coupe, I am thinking just a deck from behind the front seats to the rear of the car.  It would look pretty much the same as if you folded down the rear seat.

That would be pretty cool.

Kinda wish the previous owner had not thrown the back seat and the rear false floor in the trash, but hey, it's adding lightness, so...

Well shiiiet. Didn't know that. My knowledge base is always geared towards Australia since that is where i started my Datsun obsession

They are so common in other markets, they aren't super rare, just sort of rare here in the US.

You can still buy them new in South Africa and Australia for not too much, as I recall...
