Yeah, I got my Haynes. Got a little side-tracked and shop-vac'd the rats nest but also the engine bay as well then went to remove the driver's side horn. Need to head off to work. Going to take my Haynes with me and study that diagram at work.

 

Any idea what page it's on?

I couldn't find the old thread....maybe it was on nwde and the archive doesn't have pics anyway. Managed to dig the pics up from a how-to done years ago....I loaded them up to photobucket....maybe there's something there that will help.

believe the rumors....most are true from their perspective :)

 

The spacer is to keep from completely crushing the rubber grommet. If your shop vac ate it, it's still in there. You could probably just make another out of a piece of copper or steel tubing. They were pretty common back then....you could probably pull one from any other datsun in the scrapyard. :)
