stoplight switch

I bought my buddy's '67 520 over the weekend. He needed money and I did'nt want to see anyone else get it. He had the motor rebuilt and put a new Weber on it . The engine number matches also for whatever that's worth.

The brake lights were not working so I checked the circuit and they get juice. I bought a new switch and put it on and still no lights. Any advice?

I believe 520 trucks have power to the brake light switch all the time. The switch is hydraulic, and on a "T" in the brake lines.

Find the switch. pull the wires off it, and jump them. Brake lights on? if no, check brake light bulbs. If bulbs are good, check grounds on taillights. Then check other connections between the brake light switch, in the wire harness, back to the taillights.
