Eric Garside
Went to Pick and Pull today... What a joke! The doesnt have much for inventory at all. Pull and save didnt have much either but the Propane stuff was gone, I guess someone thought it was worth while. I havent had much luck researching the remote mount brake/clutch master cylinders. Does anyone know where I can find info on them or even a good book on automotive brakes so I can figure it out that way? Still waiting for that PM Bill :) Quote Link to comment
chester
You gonna run hoodless like chet, or are ya gonna set that engine a little closer to the crossmember lol my hood is on now and has been for awhile. great build so far will be watching Quote Link to comment
drastic520
Scored some parts at Pull and Save today. Nice set of mirrors, volvo fuel pump for $7, lowering blocks, and some other miscellaneous stuff. What have you guys used for the outlet on the pump, as far as plumbing? Also, why is the outlet so much smaller than the inlet? Also saw this and thought it was interesting.... Any idea what kind of carb that is? It looks really small, im not sure why someone would invest in that instead of a weber (not really relevant to my build but I thought I would share anyway). I used 5/16" brake line on mine front to back for both lines. i also used the 280zx fuel pump. Quote Link to comment
Eric Garside
Not much progress lately. Waiting on parts and money but I scored some stuff from CL and Pull and Save. Apexi muffler for $40 bucks from CL 280z dash that I was super stoked to retro fit into the 620 but soon realized it would take some serious fab work :(. The main reason this does not work is the steering column. The 620 is a straight shaft and the 280 has a knuckle in it so the 280 shaft sits closer to the drivers door. I still have some ideas for making a hybrid dash but you guys will just have to wait to see those ;) Anyone know the function of this little guy? Still in need of a factory K/C fuel tank if anyone knows where I can get one or has an extra one lying around. I will post some more next week when I make some more progress Quote Link to comment
Eric Garside
Got a little work done today. On with the pictures I think it looks really cool but Im not sure if the gauges not being centered with the steering wheel will bother me. What do you guys think? This is obviously not finished yet Quote Link to comment
Eric Garside
scored a pretty nice parts truck thanks to Bill and Corey. Thanks again guys!!! Quote Link to comment

wildmaninid
Sad to see that old truck go. Dad bought her brand new in 79 from Bonners Ferry Datsun. I spent a million miles in that truck, my bro and I riding in the king cab. I learned to drive in that truck. Good to see it getting parted for a good cause! Great to meet you again Eric, and so funny i knew your dad already!! Quote Link to comment

I'm BLUE
Got a little work done today. On with the pictures I think it looks really cool but Im not sure if the gauges not being centered with the steering wheel will bother me. What do you guys think? This is obviously not finished yet neat ! you should cut out the other 3 gauges(as a pack) ,,, and mount them under the heaterpanel/radio area ,,, then stitch it all together ,,, hell I'd use the glovebox and circular heater vents too ,,, but that's just me ,,, it would look sleak ;) :) ( finish all in some kinda of wrap ? ) Quote Link to comment
bonvo
why didnt you just swap the whole dash? Quote Link to comment

Eric Garside
If you read the whole thing it tells you... the z dash doesn't fit but this is nowhere near done and the finished product will be very clean and oem looking Quote Link to comment

I'm BLUE
Hey ... how is the swap coming along? Dash? :) Quote Link to comment
Eric Garside
Not much to update on at the moment, been super busy with work. The dash is on hold for the time being. I want to run the KA tranny and it requires an electronic speedo or a SUPER expensive converter. I started some work on the motor swap today. Got the motor dropped in on the custom mounts from Redeye (Thanks again buddy!!!) Started on the wiring. I was worried when I started removing the tape to inspect the wires because I saw a bunch of splices. Upon further inspection I realized they were from the factory. I am going to open up the hole in the firewall that the factory harness goes through for the KA harness. The factory harness will then be relocated to the smaller hole next to it. The plan is to get everything wired, routed, and fabbed up. Then I will pull the engine back out and rebuild it. I will have the the truck ready for Canby (I hope ). Input and advice is always welcome and appreciated. 1 Quote Link to comment

Eric Garside
Thanks DTP! I cant wait to have it on the road. I would eventually like to make this a KA-R using this kit http://www.ka24der.com/. I think there is enough room but Im not 100% on that. Does anyone know the dimension of the M62? Eric Garside
Steve, are you still running all the emission stuff on your DE? I am removing the EGR system from mine and was hoping you had some pointers on the vacuum lines/wiring.... Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Still running the EGR on mine. Quote Link to comment
