78 b210 a/c

My 78 had the a/c deleted and I'm looking to put it back. Everything under the dash is still there, so just wondering what I can expect to need. Obviously compressor and bracket,lines, condenser. What else?

You'll need a Receiver/Drier as well. You can't reuse those, so it will have to be new. You say that the under the dash stuff is still there, does that include the Evaporator and Expansion valve? Have the lines to these been blocked off securely? If not, you'll need to flush them out or ideally replace them, as any small debris will render your a/c less than efficient.

the receiver/dryer isn't very expensive. last i checked they were on rockauto.com for a pretty low price, i cant remember it off hand. thats the only thing mine is missing.

Thanks guys! Gonna start collecting parts. Might as well just go with new everything just to be safe. How hard is it to make new lines? Ive never messed with a/c before.

Make new lines? Just use your existing ones.

 

The only new part you need is the receiver. A good A/C shop will vaccum-evacuate the system before recharging the fluid.
