Rescued this b210 from the crusher

Cars from the 1970s were too old for Cash for Clunkers -- they had to be less than 25 years old. See Cash For Clunkers.

 

They did take in some Corvettes and at least one Maserati.

oh yea i forgot about that. but still a lot of desirable cars were seized and crushed mercilessly. its a darn shame.

not to mention the car had to average 18 mpg or less; which is half what alot of us get

i didnt know that one. that makes sense since it was to reduce pollution. i still didnt like the idea though.

You didn't like the idea of getting gas-hogging clunkers off the streets?

well not really. a few of them i would have driven. some of them were in not so bad shape they just werent good on gas. some of the cars i saw such as a chevy astro would have been very cheap on craigslist from simple things to fix going bad but they got more money from cash for clunkers so broke ass people like me dont have a cheap ass astro van. i'm not saying i like chevys but a windowless astro makes a nice parts hauler and you can put a huge system in it.

It wasn't about gas hogs. It was about getting people to go out and buy new cars since the economy had just crashed. ;)
