Bamadawg
I am in the process of getting parts together for a LZ22 build. I have the Z22 in my truck already... have a used U67 bare head, and I know where several donor L20b trucks are. I am needing to order the parts to reassemble the head... I already have some nice SS valves, but I need everything else. Was wondering if there are a few good one-stop places on the web to order quality parts for Datsuns. Who makes some good cam grinds, esp for truck applications... we called them stump-puller/tow grinds in the V8 world... something that will take advantage of the 2.3L torque, and be decent on the Hwy when needed. Thanks in advance... Nate Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
Isky cams Schneider Webcamshafts Rockauto.com Importedcarparts.com Mr-auto-parts.com Napaonline nissanparts.cc if you have some part#s the620.com tech section Look all this up Personally I dont think they is a big difference in LZ22 over a L20. The L20 has a better counter weighted crank. Quote Link to comment
Bamadawg
Thanks for the reply Hainz... that helps alot. I had a few of those places in my head, but been awhile since I was tinkering with the Datsun. What is the largest bore I could get on the L20? I jus thought everyone liked the L/Z option cause it gave the best displacement. Nate Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
This is just my opinion here since ssfwagn stated he got 148hp from the rear wheel with his L20 why bother fuking with the head gasket and mods of a LZ hybrid. But its really up to YOU. Quote Link to comment
heirfaus
It takes about 2 hours to carefully do the mods to the headgasket and block. Not too bad. I do hear you on the crank situation, just don't rev too much......yeah right:cool: Quote Link to comment
