mikec
So just after I went through the trouble of replacing the csb in my e30, I start feeling a clunk from the trans tunnel of my 85 720 under takeoff. After turning up the radio for a while I decided to slide under and sure enough, she's torn with over a half inch of play in the driveshaft. I guess I'm ready to tackle this garbage again, but all the csbs I find online are around $100. The oe replacement on my e30 was $15. Is there a source to find this part for cheaper? thanks, Mike Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
Check the wrecking yards. You can probably get the whole driveshaft for less than that. Quote Link to comment

mikec
last i checked, a two-piece driveshaft runs about $50. plus, i'd be getting another high-mileage 25 yo bearing. i'd rather pay up and not worry about it. it's amazing, my bmw is consistently cheaper to upgrade and maintain than my nissan - at least in terms of new/replacement parts.
