MikeRL411
This was originally posted in another forum as an answer to a "Where can I get" question. I believe it deserves a wider audience. The units are "Roadhandler Performance Gas" units and they are just great for "Minor, spirited driving". The part numbers are: 0289750, possibly the front ones, I can't remember, and 02897601, possibly the rear shocks, with the notation "replaced by 98201" which would make it 02898201. It is my understanding that the rear shocks were originally designed for the first generation 1963 and 1964 Corvette so the sprung weight over the solid rear axle should be just right performance wise. My RL411 loves them! Sears does honor the lifetime warranty as long as you keep the original bill of sale. If you had Sears install them, installation of any replacement if needed is "on the house". ppeters914
Did you get those part numbers directly off the shocks, or....???? Googling indicates the Roadhandler Performance series may be Gabriel instead of Monroe. Either way, cannot find those part numbers on Sears' website. Different numbers for the '63-'64 Corvette. They do make 7 suggestions (all Monroe) for RL411's, but nothing for PL411's. Quote Link to comment

They are real part numbers, Sears may have updated and substituted manufacturers since then. When I buy anything with a "lifetime" warranty I always keep the paperwork! Quote Link to comment
ppeters914
Excellent. Should be able to give those numbers to Sears just like providing numbers to the Nissan parts dude. Any idea how your Sears/Monroe shocks compare to KYB Gas-A-Justs? Quote Link to comment
HRH
Have you tried those numbers at NAPA yet? We carry Monroe (rebadged of course) and KYB. Don't know if there will be much availability on the KYB for that old, but very possible we can still get the regular version. Quote Link to comment

I have no idea how they compare. I put these in my 411 back when I was traveling back and forth between San Bernardino and Vandenberg AFB every 2 weeks at [ahem] a legal rate of speed [yeah]. These units performed super well on the freeway and the old Pacific Coast Highway through the Malibu Colony area. Comfortable around town also. Quote Link to comment
HRH
Well I'm at work today (NAPA) and I just looked up a 1967 Datsun 411, and I have the fronts in stock, and the rears a day out. No crossing numbers, this is regular warehouse class. (These would be Monroe shocks, rebadged) Interchange for these is '64-'65 410, and '65-'67 411. 5803 Napa Sensa-Tracs for the front, sedan or wagon. 5804 Napa Sensa-Tracs for the rear, sedan or wagon. For the other numbers posted originally, I can only find one to cross, that was to a 5803 which shows up for a 510, and a lot of other vehicles. I even have cheaper sets available. I wouldn't run them, but they're ten bucks less a piece. Quote Link to comment
