280zx struts vs 280z struts

I couldn't find a thread answering my questions but if there is i apologize.

 

So i was talking to a old Datsun guy and he said if i want my z lower, i should get zx struts and do a full coil over kit on them to get it low.

He said if i did the same thing with the stock z struts it would be about 2 inches higher?

Because if this is true there is a zx sitting at a junk yard and i could snatch up the struts tomorrow.

Go get em. 280ZX will have better brakes than the 280 struts. Plus I've never heard if anyone doing that swap.

And as D Mike says the 280 is a solid rotor.

280Z struts will swap other 280Z.

Is that true? If you convert Z struts to coilover you cant lower it very much? That doesn't sound right.

but 280z will not swap with 280zx

 

 

I see alot of the non Z car guys confusing the two.

the only thing they share is the motor, trans, and diff.

 

the body/suspension stuff is %100 different. they are not the same car.

 

the suspension isnt even swapable between S30's. 240z and 280z still doesnt interchange.

Umm, do you remember...

 

so after i get my airdam on, i want to slam my car. I will probably do 280zx struts with lowering springs or coilovers. and get it around this height.

 

just an fyi, the 280zx strut swap thing is for 510's

 

 

you can just use your 280z struts and get a coil over set or 1/1.5 drop springs for them.

theres also various brake upgrades for S30s as well

 

skib i realized that after i posted it. ill probably do a coilover kit from tecno toy tuning. but for now just cut springs. i want o lower it more than 2 coils but i wont.
