Read a buit, from what i read, the only difference is the later doors are a heavier gauge metal? So technically, I could take a 280z door and bolt it right onto a 240z?

What abuot locks? I need a lock set. I'm looking at some free 280z doors right now, but there are also smoe 260z doors teh guy is parting out/ Main reason the lock area on my doors seems to be busted.

the handles dont mount differently but the latches do, 240s are lower. I forgot about this when shaun was asking me the other day but, I believe you can make it work and possibly work better because the 240's suck for always breaking the latch plate. peace.

76-78 280Z cars use a different door latch and door striker than the 240z 260z and 75 280z.

So if the car is older than 76 the doors will have to be from a 75 or older.

If the car is 76 77 or 78 you will need a door from a 76 77 or 78.

Also the windows and tracks are different too.

I know from experiance.

peace

The only door that fits a 240z is one from a 240z or a thin bumpered 260z, the 280 doors WILL NOT fit properly. The differences are minor and very subtle, but it wont work right.

I've had a friend put 280 doors on a 240. He said it was a pain in the ASS. But I saw no diference. Car was really nice.
