since my dad owns a towing company, he often times buys "scrap" cars for relatively cheap. one day a guy called my dad about a '72 Datsun 510.
i flipped. $100 in guys hand, 510 in mine. every single penny was worth it. it had MINIMAL surface rust/ body damage. just 2 dings one in the front under the grill and one on the rear bumper.
ever since that day, i fell in love with everything Datsun.

yea only two things are stopping me from installing my engine and getting it running, finding all the hardware (bolts, screws, nuts, etc) and time.

yea i really wanted to keep it white, i wanted to keep it in original form with the dings and rust, it sorta had its personality, but my dad insisted on painting it. my next Datsun projects are going to retain its original body/color

hey guys sorry i haven't updated in so long. with school about to end, we're reviewing for finals and getting last minute projects assigned to us.

so far i have bought headers, lowering springs, and a clutch pedal at Datsloco's swap meet.

i have a quick question, the Haynes manual says not to remove the Camshaft bearing brackets, i did, it also says that if i do i need to buy a new head. why would i have to buy a new head?

You reaaly want to run that header????????If thats a L20 it will hit the floor. Thats why I hate those long ones and if you really want to salm the car down they a pain!!!!!!! i would have not getting it myself.

also look like you have a truck oil pan on there. best to get a 510 oilpan also the 510 motor mounts.

thanks for the info, yea i got a L18 oil pan, and yea i dont plan on lowering the car anytime soon, i just want it running. i need a L16/18 pick up tube as well right?
