here's my 521

Radiator bolts are snugged up and lower hose put on. Found some temporary valve cover bolts. Found the spark plug for number one cylinder and installed. Baby steps here.

Carb mocked up. Fuel lines and filter up front replaced. Water bypass hose to intake replaced. Choke hooked up.

It runs!!! Now the rear wheel cylinder is leaking and wont hold pressure. Looks like a brake job before I can drive it.

Rear brakes done. I limped it up to the gas station to fill up the tires and gas it up. It ran real nice with lots of low end power compared to my l16's.

 

There was a grinding in the front wheel though. Sounds like a front brake job and r&r work on the bearings is next.

I put a proper air cleaner housing on it.

Had to get another fuel pump because this can style was rubbing up on my cam sprocket.

I had a few leaks I couldn't figure out where they were coming from. Ended up being the roof so I stripped it down and put some seam sealer all around it.

I never figured out what this cobbled piece of crap filler neck was from even though I was the one who did it. I swear it was from a 620 but every fuel cap I tried no matter what Datsun model wouldn't work. I knew this day would come so I put it back to stock with a fuel rated clear hose.

Clutch and brake pedals looking good finally. Gas pedal is going to be a different story.
